  • We had the opportunity to meet with Jennie Riley and Nelda Speaks, both volunteers for the Twin Lakes Literacy Council. Our Investor Spotlight Series gives insight into what to expect from different businesses, organizations, and non-profits.
The Literacy Council is a non-profit organization of volunteers promoting literacy in Baxter County. It provides FREE one-to-one tutoring to children and adults who need help with reading, writing, English, or math skills.
They also offer community classes on pre-GED review, digital (computer) skills, financial literacy, and workplace soft skills.
Instructors hope these classes will help adults become comfortable operating a computer in an online environment, manage their financial health, and learn the soft skills that help individuals get and keep a good job.
The Twin Lakes Literacy Council is on a mission to transform communities by empowering individuals through literacy. They believe that literacy, in all its diverse forms, is the key to unlocking potential and fostering a more inclusive and prosperous society.
