Trekology did a great job not only making the chair compact and lightweight, but it is also remarkably comfortable! The high back really does make a huge difference with these portable chairs!

I had this chair since 2016 and will give a little feedback. I took this chair up to Canada on canoeing trips in 2016 and 2017. The chair is comfy and stable and wasn't hard to get out of. Easy setup and packs fairly small for a high back chair. I believe It is heavier than the Helinox but it is half the price. With all that being said, the plastic piece where one of the rods snapped in to broke in 2017. I was beyond the 1 year warranty so I got a little over 1 years use out of the chair. Sometimes you get what you pay for. Perhaps you will have better luck than I did.

Purchase Trekology folding chairs from Amazon a few month back. Had them for around 3 months, used them around Four times each. I weigh around 180lbs so way below the max weight for these chairs. Anyway long story short the strings on both of the chairs fell apart. And just a heads up to all. Most of the reviews people post are with in days of receiving products. Meaning there brand new. A real REVIEW Should be months if not a year later, which we never get in most cases.

Like the look of these. Is there any risk of them tipping over backwards if you're not careful with your weight distribution?

    At 3lb 5oz, I wouldn't call that a backpacking chair.

True, hard to justify the weight backpacking. I did take it bike packing on my last trip and was thankful I did, but if I was long distance backpacking I could not justify the weight

How do they hold up over time?

They're cheap and wont hold up over time. However, if you're a once or twice a year user? Maybe 3 years.
