A new animated series, The Amazing Digital Circus, was recently released on The Glitch channel. Trust me, it's one of the best things I've seen in a while. Here’s a theory: when players escape the circus, the model loses its brain and abstracts, becoming an AI that just attacks anything that moves. Then, the abstracted version of the player is trapped in the cellar where it loses AI and cannot do anything. If the basement becomes too full, an Abstracted player(s) will transform into a mannequin and become a player again with slight memory of before abstracting, though the memory is harder to tell what is happening depending on how long they were in the basement.
I love how the subtitles said literally everything but Kaufmo.
It said Cosmo, Cozmo, Kamo, Karamo, Calvino, Kaufman, California, Cuomo, Kalama, Cal, Kauffman, Alamo, Callisto, and couple.
Honorable mention to when it called Pomni Pompeii.
i have a theory:
the reason why caine doesnt want them to venture out into the void is because he doesn’t know whats out there. but at the end of the pilot episode, we see that beyond the void is a computer. a computer that is turned on, with a headset beside it. that might indicate that beyond the void is the real world, meaning that if pomni finds a way to outsmart caine like how koufmo did, she may be able to get out. Another theory is that because caine doesn’t understand people well (because he is an AI), he might think (or be programmed to think) that the void is actually dangerous. maybe he doesn’t understand that beyond the void is the real world. after all, he’s programmed to just keep them from going insane by having little adventures for them, and to keep them from going into the void right?

Same here I have a similar theory,
So I think there is a little backstory to tadc and it’s a game simulation made by a company that all these charecters have worked at and at some point they have all tested the games headset. Caine being AI generated being a ring master who wants to put on a show over and over again traps humans as his props to put on his shows thus never wanting them to leave.
While all of the other charecters have never seen an exit or one of Caine’s fake exits but Pomni and Kaufmo meaning they might know more than other characters. Also when you play some VR headset games slightly like the void it zooms out of the simulation when playing a vr game and your done playing till another time you desire to play. And as seen it zooms out back to a PC that looked like one of them in one of the exits that had an office room. The particular computer has Pomni looking at it as if she had seen it before. And if the void is the escape and Caine doesn’t want anyone to leave he immediately stops Pomni. As we hear about Kaufmo in this video it could mean that Caine turned all the characters searching endlessly for an exit took the consequence of being abstracted and thrown into the cellar like we saw with Kaufmo.
Anyways that’s my theory and can’t wait for episode 2

Could be the people are not really people but are digital representations of people who had tested the game/game system. And Cain is most likely aware of that fact and tries to keep them safe from abstracting.
In the Glitch livestream Goosework explains that when she develops Jax she soon realizes that there are too many cast members in TADC so she decided to use Kaufmo as a sacrifice
Yeah. Still a huge shame Kaufmo ended up being reduced as a "Jacob Marley" type character who's purpose is to essentially warn Pomni not to hold any false hope for an exit as hope only leads to abstraction.
I have a theory. In the end of the pilot episode it zooms out of the void into the real world. Meaning if you zoom out into the void which in the episode Caine tells you not to. It could be a possible exit

I agree, because i dont see any other reason why they would try to introduce a character that had 0 dialogue and 0 screen time. He has to be a big part of the story in my opinion
Also, the hallways that are in Kaufmo’s room. I think Kaufmo went through the same thing as pomni did in the exit, And also. It mightve been memories before they put on the so called “headset”. Which led him to insanity.
Reason:
The reason why Kaufmo was abstracted it is because he missed his mom and dad, and he was drawing for Caine to care about the "exit" but that didn't work, but as soon as Kaufmo looks at the TADC Group Members he ripped it off and he transformed into a dinosaur-shaped glitched Person, as you can see into the Pilot Episode, Ragatha has been glitched by Kaufmo and later fixed by Caine, and Kaufmo was gone at all due to him going to the underfloor,
Edit: Also, Pomni is not a clown, Kaufmo is, Pomni is actually a jester, they are different.

I have a theory in the first place when Pomni saw a exit door its orange (the exit door outside the tent) and then the second door that she entered is red which was the fake one I guess and I guess the orange door is the real exit.
While it is a great and interesting hypothesis.
I doubt it is remotely plausible.
Gooserworx already confirmed that Cain is not evil, he just an NPC that wants to have his circus and he wants his characters to be healthy and estimulated, which negates any second intentions by Cain.
This can be seen throught the pilot where Cain treats everyone with the same postiveness, respect and apreciation. And does actually reward them after they complete a game.
We should see Cain with some sort of "inocence/naivism" because he is just an NPC who doesn't understand human emotions, as he seems to concieve the exit as the door to a new adventure, therefore he mentions he doesnt like people going through doors exits because there is literally nothing there. Reason too why he rescues anyone going to the void, because they will be stuck forever in the nothing, because as we can see the void is not an exit.
The question is how someone gets obstructed. IIRC the characters cant be killed by others. But can themselves? Because as I see obstructing it is either in a more friendly way "simply going insane" or in a darker way "killing th--es".
As when they talk about obstructing the talk about it like "giving up" which can mean one of these two. And maybe when someone dies which is not supposed to happen they morph into that glitchy monster. Because kaufmo doesnt share any similarity with what he became.

Theory: Jax collects keys because he thinks that’s the main story line (in many video games, especially retro ones, the objective is collecting keys) while the adventures are just side quests. Following this, his theory is that if he finishes the game he will be free. He tries to make himself look nonchalant while he is secretly trying to escape as much as the others (which I think makes sense with his personality, since he seems too smart to stop looking for a way out). Maybe the ones that got absorbed were looking for the wrong exit/the glitch instead of actually finishing the game (thus the absorption) or Jax may be wrong and there is no game to finish. However because of the whole set up being a video game and the adventures presented as side quests it does seem sensible to assume there must be a main plot line to the game (whether that is collecting keys or not)

For everyone harping on if clowns and jesters are the same or not....they are part of the same family of theatrical performers. Mimes are also part of the family but are more like distant cousins. If you look at Italian pagliacci, they're dressed like jesters but in fact the name pagliaccio is clown. No other distinction (while mimes are called 'mimo', showing that there is a distinction. )

What if Kaufmo did find the exit? We know it’s people who look for the exit the most that abstract, so maybe it’s because they actually find them. Abstraction maybe a result of escaping (like their empty character) or a way the game/cain has of not letting them tell the rest. This theory also comes from Kaufmo, Queeny (the abstracted chess piece) and Pomni portrayed as probably pretty smart and level-headed compared to the rest of the characters
