Pretty cool Contra-style run and gun game from Irem featuring pilotable vehicles and a decent range of weapons.
The later sequel, GunForce II, features better graphics and comes from the same team who would go on to create the Metal Slug series.

How are you supposed to play this and then go back to games where touching enemy bodies causes both damage and knockback?
lol right? this game is like off brand contra. right down to the transition from fighting in vietnam to like an alien base with a weird wall alien boss.
That's funny, I remember they can hurt you by just touching you back in the arcade days.
I also remember this game being somewhat difficult to play. Plus that "baa-ahh-ahh-ahhhhh!!!!" sound your character made when he died.

The fact that you touch the enemies and you don't die makes this game too easy....it would more challenging if you die by touching them...I had never seen this game before it reminds of contra.

Super NES emulator. It had a sequel too, Gunforce 2.
@@micblades1117 What are you talking about? This isn't the SNES port. If it was, the sound would be much worse, and the camera would scroll so slowly it would effectively make the entire game an auto-scroller.
I couldn't have made any of that up if I tried.

Contra is way more better.
naw, its offbrand contra. not quite as good, got a bit of jank in that taste, but on the surface looks the same. from the start on a south asian island jungle, to fighting an alien on a wall at the end. hah.

Wow them sound affects and music sound like kids get hit with water balloons and random xylophone music from the speaker of a Motorola. Man sometimes things can be not worth playing.

The sequel Gunforce II is way better, try that. This game and the sequel is why Metal Slug exists
