As a neutral I was getting the impression at the end of last season that this season might be a bit of a walkover... Celtic were just starting to build serious momentum then and they now have a formidable squad with a manager who knows exactly how to use it. Benfica must be kicking themselves over that puny option to buy for Jota, such a special player.

@@alexelder6115 I've been saying that about Goldson and how he held us to ransom for a 4 year deal when no PL team was interested in him. We should have punted him and looked elsewhere. I feel he'll cost us dearly in the future too. Our Champions League opponents must be rubbing their hands and can't wait to play us.

Deserved everything we got, gutless performance. The better team won. Not one player gets pass marks. Turning your back on the game, standing/jogging instead of closing your man. There’s no way Kamara or McLaughlin can start against Ajax. Badly miss Bassey, thought sands played okay today but he’s not a cb. Going to be a long season but we move on💙
To be fair to Glen i think hes carrying a knock, but the fact he had to play highlights how poor our recruitment has been.
You can't win games if you don't turn up. McLaughlin gave one away and let two through him. The back four were poor, and we showed little to nothing going forward. But then off the pitch our recruitment left us short. We had a full back at centre half and only 18 year old King as cover on the bench. We missed Lawrence but Colak and Tilman offered little. We go into the Champions League with a sparse squad. Let's just hope the injured centre backs return soon and that there's no more injuries. So much for the Bassey and Aribo money and the CL treasure chest.

Im a Celtic fan and i think ill no doubt get abuse from someone for even leaving a comment but looking at that game today....Arfield should have been on that pitch and Morelos should have been up front with Colak. McGregor should have also been in goal. To drop these players for new recruits with no experience of playing in a Derby of this magnitude was Gios downfall

Celtic are set up very well compared to rangers and for that you can blame Gio but what is inexcusable is rangers players lack of effort and desire that can’t be coached that has to come from within

A very fair view of the game. Not blinded by your obvious support of Glasgow Rangers. It's very hard to take and we were battered today by a very good Celtic team. It's long season and it's never easy at Parkhead. So hopefully onwards and upwards. Loosing away to them is not a surprise. It was the manner of defeat. Bring on Ajax 😭
We looked like stale bread today. Broken and tossed by the end of the game. Almost like there was no belief in what we were set out to do. That's the biggest alarm for me.

I’m from the other side and I really appreciate your honest response. I speak for many when I say I was surprised by the score line. Your team is a shadow of their former selves and if that’s the strongest eleven you have it’ll be a long time until January. Celtic have strengthened and enforced their team and bench but for some reason your board haven’t realised the risk of not competing with your rivals.

That was the worst performance I've seen since the Pedro/Murty days. We were well beaten and out players showed zero fight or desire.

First time viewer from Australia - I’ve followed Ange for years and was so excited when he landed the Celtic job, particularly when no one gave him a chance…From Day 1, he said he wanted to play exciting, attacking football that would get the fans on their feet - 12 months on, your eyes don’t lie…25 for / 1 against - Celtic we’re a basket case when AP arrived, and it’s simply incredible where he’s got that team in just one year…a great illustration of what a truely TOP Manager he is!

On your point with McLaughlin first of all I agree that Robby should get a game he’s 24 now and deserves a chance. Also at least in the February game McGregor was completely let down by the people in front of him maybe could have saved the first but other than that was powerless. McLaughlin today could have stopped about 3 of those goals and he’s proved that he just isn’t cut out to be the first choice

I don't think I can watch another game where we spend half the game passing the ball between defenders. Should have brought in quality players with us making the Champions leauge. Shocking display, no hunger, desire, anything! McLaughlin showed how poor he is. I just don't get why we were set up that way. Laughed off pundits saying if we lost today the leauge is over, can't see Celtic dropping many points after that performance and struggle to believe we can do anything this season.

Too early to talk about titles but the now all of a sudden is Rangers will be going in to games with a real fear of losing. Next week at Aberdeen can't afford to drop more points or the next old firm will be a win or bust game. Mentally things become different, games become harder for fear of losing ground

Honest analysis. This is the most excited I’ve been about a Celtic team. The losses will come in Europe I still think, but the style of football is what every football fan wants their team to adopt. We have a fantastic set of young, technical players but most importantly they are hard working. Ange Postecoglou will undoubtedly become a household name in football. Great time to be a Celtic fan.

From a Celtic fan I must say you’re pretty bang on, shouldn’t of been a 4-0 game but rangers gifted goals, starting with 3 sitting midfield types also led to yous not creating anything, celtics will get more goals from the wingers this season than yous can dream of. You covered everything really. I expect much closer games vs rangers next time but realistically Celtic ain’t going to drop many points vs the rest of the league, our style just cuts through the rest of the league which makes 5 points a pretty big gap already IMO.

weve made around £100-200m in income last couple of years however that will be used for the next few year to fund the gap to becoming self sustained rather than invested in the squad. With the new musuem opening cost of £10m and cost of maintaining it as well as new stadium improvements. We need to reduce the wage bill and expenses somehow and get into the champions league most seasons or a good run in the Europa league to fund top new signings to take us to the next level.

If your board backed the manager the same as Celtics backed Ange you wouldn't need to worry about injuries. Ange has recruited AND ensured every position has a 2nd player who can perform just as good as the first selection. The depth between the two has done a complete 180 in 12 months.

Goldson does not jump for the ball & to slow. Sands no forward movement, 95% of his passes are back or sideways. Davis to slow, Kamara does not move out off 1st gear. Kent is wasteful with the ball, he is miles behind Jota & Abada.
The players and Gio had no idea how to play against the the speed and quick movement from Celtic. How any Rangers team can go to Celtic park in that atmosphere and expect to beat Celtic with that type of slow play is beyond belief. It's the lack of fight, desire , pride, effort that is a major concern. Out played in every position on the park. You cannot except that performance.

As a Jambo, Craig, I'm actually stunned by that scoreline. We went to Mordor and we had an important Europa League game coming up, so we left wee Baz, Craig and big Shanks on the bench. We played our back-up keeper against them and we gave them a run for the money. For the first hour Andy Halliday was a warrior in our central midfield and we really missed him when he went off injured. We missed a few good chances to score and only lost a second goal when we went down to nine men.
The difference? We were in their faces for the full game and most of your lads just didn't turn up. They never turned up for one of the most important games of the season and I'll never understand that.
Our tactics work well enough in Europe and in the League but they just don't work at all against Celtic's style of play. We need to somehow change our game style entirely went we go to Takeshi's Castle, and likely when they come to Ibrox. Fair play to Celtic, they did us all over the park today and played exceptionally well at points.
Just simply, Celtic are a much better football team.

Been saying all season that our defence is far to ponderous. At some points today it took 3 passes to get the ball out of our box! Absolutely no intensity, our full backs take every throw in regardless of where it is 🤷♂️ As yoy said learned nothing since February and we all knew how fast they would play. The worst thing was no one seemed to care. Gough, Butcher or Brown would never have accepted that lack of fight and bottle 🤬🤬
Very disappointing today. Very, but this is football and it happens. The advantage was always with the dark side at Parkhead , I honestly think and SEE those Rangers players are absolutely shellshocked from the display / atmosphere. The decision to take McGregor out and put McLaughlin in from the start of the season in the first place is a joke and if gio keeps him on the team after that then he has no balls as a manager. And i will have even less faith in him than i already do.

We stood still in the transfer market last season and I think we've actually taken a step back this season in the market which is nothing short of a disgrace considering the tens of millions we've brought in. Bassey was phenomenal and Aribo was on fire at the beginning of last season and scored in the Europa final but who have we replaced them with? We've spent nearly 15 million quid on three players who aren't even making the first 11 and only brought in 3 players in Colak, Lawrence (free transfer), and Tilman (loan) who actually make the team. That squad wasn't good enough to win the league last season so I'm not sure what has changed this season for Gio? Woeful tactician.

Perfect summing up CJ. What a sorry individual & team performance. The comparison between the teams reflects on the managers & coaching staff as well as the players. Did they do their homework on the opposition,didn’t look like we knew what to expect. Good Rangers teams of the past(I’m old enough to remember them)would have left their mark on the wee jinky wingers early on…no guts/steel on display. Gio needs a serious rethink on how he approaches these games or he won’t be around long…nor should he. We need every game from now until end of the season to be one with guts on display if we don’t have the quality. Nothing less than a win against Ajax will do. Drop McLaughlin,Kamara,Kent,as a minimum. Goodson needs to step up with a bit more aggression as does Tav. Hard men in that team are missing. Leon Balogoun is a big miss…a poor decision by Gio to let him go! The saving grace is that it’s early but a few heads need knocking together & after today I don’t have much confidence it will be done.

Season is over already cant see them dropping too many points now they are miles ahead of us in every department some players need to take a long hard look at themselves we have a great youth academy lets give them a chance play two or three from the start and and these lads will do us proud RTID.
