RIP Grampa my sympathy to the family I fully understand what your going through my brother inlaw died last year on the 21 of December we didn't celebrate Christmas because of his death just didn't feel right to celebrate christmas
I said the same thing to my wife at the end of the story about OP’s grandfather-mechanic. Where I live, people cringe at the thought of having their car repaired or serviced because it’s so expensive.
@@brianmason3941 Where I live, there's a community center where a group rented a light industry prefab building. Various tradesmen and hobbyists joined a "collective" or "co-op" for a low annual fee. In the building there were all sorts of tools, lifts, chem disposal barrels, etc. Since there was a kitchen, you'd find skilled mechanics, handymen, etc just hanging out after hours, or between jobs. They even teach classes to help fund the place. It wasn't a business, but more a creative arts group under local law. :D
I wonder about the judgment that he needed a business license. He was running a ministry, not a business. I could see the Institute for Justice helping someone in this kind of case.
Last story, your grandfather sounded like a good man. I loved how he was willing to help those who needed it with no thought of making money. If only more people were willing to help others this way.

Grandpa's story was truly heartwarming. But the first owner of the dealership was a fool. He could have cut a mutually beneficial deal with grandpa but he chose to go hardass and ultimately lost in court.
After Grandpa's heart attack, he probably should NOT have quit the business. Doing NOTHING, he lived 3 years. If he had been working he would have been happier, if only for a year or two. Who knows, perhaps continuing to work would have extended his life beyond. But quitting was NOT good for his happiness. Staying alive is not the ultimate goal of existence, but being happy.
When we bought it brand new in October 2011, the tires of our 2012 Nissan Rogue were filled with nitrogen. 50 U.S. dollars worth of nitrogen per tire according to the sticker. What a rip-off. Over the course of about a year, the tires were gradually filled with regular air, not nitrogen. And the green stem caps were replaced with black ones.
Anybody ever have experience hauling things to the local convenience center (town dump for short)? It never fails. You get a long line of vehicles and 50% of the time it is because somebody who just dumped their garbage is having a casual conversation with the workers at the center and has no desire to leave. And the employees are forcing them to move on. So their oversized F350 is blocking traffic and the driver (always male) is just laughing and chatting away like there isn't a care in the world. There are certain things men should do just because they are men. 1. Park in the back of the parking lot. Less likely to get dings and women will spend 20 minutes circling the lot looking for a spot that is 100 feet from the the store. 2. Never park by the air hoses at the gas station if you aren't going to use them. 3. If there is a line of cars waiting for gas you fill up and pull into a parking spot if you need to go inside the store. 4. And if you are at the dump, drop your garbage and get the hell out of there.

As for that jerk with the Range Rover that required nitrogen to pressurise the tyres. You could have simply removed the valve stems, and left them on the ground next to the tyres. Not certain if they are the same type of stem as the standard.
The irony of the last story; the only concession the grandfather made from what the initial person was informed was the promise/requirement of any parts which needed to be purchased would be purchased from the dealership. All other stipulations were ones he informed the previous owner.

How does someone pass away surrounded by friends and loved ones? Did everyone know the exact moment he was going to die? Or did they all just hang around the day after day after day waiting for the inevitable? I’ve always wondered what that phrase meant. I can see it now,” gather around everyone, grandpa‘s about to die”.
Yes there are signs that a person is about to die. Such as how they are breathing, seeing things that nobody else see, having conversations with people that died some years ago. slipping in and out of consciousness. They knew about 12 hours before my sister died that she was dying, so we got to spend the last 8 hours with her, and when I would happen to move out of her line of sight she would ask where I was.
Regarding the person who wrote the first story. Please stop misusing the word “triggered”? The word doesn’t mean that you felt angry or allowed someone push your buttons to the point of feeling angry, it’s a term used in psychology in relation to certain types of medical health issues like depression, anxiety or C/PTSD and neurodivergent conditions like autism. It often helps to know what causes or “triggers” certain things like a PTSD flashback so the person who has that condition can try to avoid it. I can understand where the confusion comes from because certain people have seen the TW (Trigger Warning) on certain threads, gone into the thread and either trolled people or said something that started a debate and they assumed that the “trigger warning” was about people getting angry because people got angry with them. As someone with CPTSD, depression, anxiety and autism I’d like it if you didn’t misuse a word that is there to help myself and others like me lead a reasonably average life, especially if it’s to describe how angry you felt over some entitled prat and your need to feel equal entitled to petty revenge.
