Thanks, I think the stills turned out pretty good. I had to clean up some noise as the last sequence was pretty low light but no complaints! My dad really enjoyed the outing as well, good all the way around!
That short eared owl location was really cool, have gotten out there a couple times and gotten some really cool shots. Will be interesting to see if they are still there after this cold snap. My biggest nemesis species is the Northern Saw-whet Owl, haven't managed to find one yet even though I have tried a lot of times.
Nice video! My current nemesis bird is American Three-toed Woodpecker. They are around regularly where I live, but I have yet to find one. I am actually going to look for short-eared owls myself in a couple days. Hopefully I can get some good shots, too!
Thanks for the comment! I have seen that woodpecker once up in Rocky Mountain National Park but it was very brief! Good luck in your owl search, they are spectacular!
Wow soo many shortys, great video
Yeah, there were! A very unexpected outing!
Great video of your nemesis. Glad you could share the adventure with your dad.
Thanks so much! Always satisfying to finally see something you'd failed at before, and yeah my dad was pretty ecstatic about the outing as well!
Glad you got to get some good captures of the short eared. Very nice that you could enjoy the experience with your dad.

Yeah it was really incredible, nothing like I was expecting! I also have not seen a Northern Saw Whet either...yet :)
