At least the Kiowa helicopters could have protection for themselves so that the enemy would not consider them as sitting ducks. I so condone that! The enemy sure does not 🙂

As a Finn, I condone American aerial operations from the bottom of my heart.
Beyond being a software engineer in my adult life, I am a military brat. I lived my whole childhood and youth on army bases, in Eastern Finland. I am a Combat Engineer Sergeant in the Finnish Army reserve. Yeah, I know a thing or two on how to take out enemy tanks.
I am really happy that you Americans are helping the Ukrainians to do just that 🙂 Did you know that Finland sent a container full of one-time-launch bazookas to Ukraine? Those are totally American patents. Easy to operate too. I and my father looked at the news a bit worried about how the Ukrainians are using the bazookas: They are shooting at the Russian tanks from two opposite directions! Heaven's sake! Now, if they miss, the rocket will hit its own troops.
Well, fortunately, they never missed. At least in the newsreel. They always hit the tank. And the Russian column was totally stopped. Another bad day for the Russian soldiers and tank crews.
I do not wonder why they are now trying to escape Russia, whichever direction they can try to run. Finland is one target, naturally. They really come through the border lines. They know that we Finns are not going to shoot them or molest them in any way. I cannot blame them for trying to evade.
Finland is now establishing refugee centers for the Russians.
Therein are strict laws against illegal immigrants entering Finland. But then, would you send them back to Russia, just like that? Knowing that they would be subject to a really nasty treatment?
I do not think so. We can afford to have a couple hundred thousand Russians here in Finland. These are non-combatants. We can integrate them into our society. The Americans have been doing similar operations for centuries. With great success too.
These are the helicopters that Poland should buy ... For each AH-64 one Viper + Venom ... or 1.5 Viper. Instead of 96 Apache, we should buy 150-160 Vipers ... The AH-1Z is a helicopter that is in no way inferior to the AH-64.
