You know what's funny? I said that years ago and I was lambasted for not going over to Motorsport TV. I'm glad you are getting likes. If they'd push it like they should it would be a lot more popular.
Yeah, especially for the Civic...it just feels wrong. Especially when Ferrari's and Lambo's are down in GT300 class and the 4-door civic Type-R is in the GT500 class hahahahaha
Man, Super GT is a strange beast. I feel like they are to the point where they are artificially creating two categories having GT500&300 classes. Like there is no way on god's green earth should a 4 cylinder turbo civic should be in a higher class than a V10 Lamborghini. It just doesn't make sense, especially when they're adding a bunch of extra ballast to all of the GT300 cars. So why not just make Super GT all just one class? Make them all BOP to the international GT3 standard and let them race? Or maybe make engine classifications. Say 6 cylinder and under are GT300, and V8 and up are GT500 class. Or..hear me out, make gt500 a hypercar class. Either way, the current system doesn't make sense at all.
I don't know, I feel like this is what makes SuperGT SuperGT. If we just unify it under GT3/Hypercar it just becomes another GT3/Hypercar series. I love the weird ass cars SuperGT has, and the GT500 cars are the only GTs left that are faster/wilder than GT3s. I say let them be their own thing.
@@aojracing4885 okay thats great, but why even have gt300? Those are just weighted down gt3 cars. If they want a clown show, just have the gt500 class by itself and bring back the racing prius
...Do you not realize literally ALL the GT500 cars are 4 Cylinders now? None of them even run engines from their road going counterparts so why does it even matter that a Civic is in a higher class then the Huracan? We're gonna ignore the fact that the same class where 488s and Huracans were at a time sharing the same track with a goddamned Bentley, the least supercar looking shape imaginable (all the while, this civic is in a class sharing by two models which are also in a higher class then said Huracan)? You sounding an awful lot like Stephen Ratel when he had to make a bullshit excuse on why a JAF Prius shouldn't be allowed to compete against his precious GT3s. Let Super GT be its own strange thing, its one of the few Sportscar series left that even has ANY sort've identity left and it doesn't need to be yet another boring GT3 only series (One only has to look at DTM to see how stupid an idea this is). Also: "Those are just weighted down gt3 cars"...Are you serious? Those Supras aren't GT3s, the LC500 is not a GT3, the GR86 is not a GT3 and neither is the Subaru BRZ. The class allows GT3 cars as well as cars under the JAF regs as well as the Mother chassis ruleset. This a unique formula that works just fine, this doesn't need to be yet another sanitized SRO product. We already lost a traditional Endurance race in Japan because of this stupid attitude and what happened when this stupid 10 hour race replaced it? Nobody turned up.
Just hope the coverage is gonna continue and be like this

They honestly should’ve kept the Gtr for gt500 and the nsx for gt500 even though they don’t make it anymore!

@@MUCKLEECH well I remember years ago they kept the Mk4 Supra in super gt until 2005, and they kept the original gen nsx in super gt until 2009!

it is its own thing bro ! wouldnt be the same
That's exactly what makes Super GT interesting to watch and not just another wec/imsa/gt3 series
