    I’m hoping that entire set gets preserved. There’s nothing more beautiful than the 125 when it comes to the UK.

    You gave me your monies worth. Your effort has been rewarded by some great footage of the train. Sad to see in the first location the signal box has not been saved There was a campaign to keep it after closure. Really liked the pass at speed too which sounds great

      It is yes My Aunt lives close by and sent me a news cutting about the box I remember when the station had wooden buildings and the branch line to Peterhead was open

      Is sir Kenneth Grannge still alive,this train in this livery still looks modern today,the best train we ever had,sorry to see them go.

    Did they repaint an entire hst or kept one for all these years and polished it?

      Repaint, its consist was 2 power cars and 7 carriages, nothing more was repainted,

    It’s a shame they couldn’t fit valentines engines in and refurb the coaches to their 1970s condition

    What is all the fuss about. An HST is a glorified DMU. Just don't get it. No locomotive, just a rake of coaches with a motor at both ends. Crikey, I can't begin to imagine how these enthusiasts would have dealt with the end of the A4's and A3's in the 60's. A4 versus HST? Talk about chalk and cheese!! Time to chuff chuff out of here!

      Nick Hales Oh I don’t know, maybe because the HST revolutionized rail transport, put Britain’s railways on a faster, progressive track out of the 1960s and into the 1970s and beyond?
