You did a beautiful job on that model... I fell in love with my build: Jordan 191 (first Tamiya 1/20 build)(dont look as good as yours, tho)...My old friend at the hobby shop called me and said ..I have the Ferrari F189 you ordered...when I went to pick it up, he said that had a surprise for me..he said do you want both..? and I said..I only ordered the Ferrari F189..he said ..well I have both; the 1/20th scale and the Ferrari F190 in 1/12th scale..! Waoo..! They both been sitting waiting for me, til I get the mojo to build them...They are too beautiful to touch right now, specially the 1/12th scale one!!...its a beauty...! take care.... =)
Nice job. One of the biggest mysteries to me was how Tamiya neglected to include the radiator lines in the side pods. Made some out of solder for my build to look proper.
Thank you very much; I agree with you, it makes the car look a bit empty on the inside, but my friend wanted it OOB so I didn't bother much. Btw, very good idea with the solder
How much of the model is already in the right colour and how much do you have to paint? I'm going to get one of these but it'd be my first model and I wanna know what paints to get etc.
The body and most of the black parts are already in the right colors, bu I've painted all of them, including the black ones, which were painted satin black or semi-gloss black. For the body color there's a wide variety of Ferrari red available. Just choose the one that seems right to you
Great job! I'll inspire myself from your model! Where or how did you come up with the Marlboro decals? They did not put any references to cigarettes in the one I have. Thanks in advance!
This is an older kit, when they still had the tobacco decals; pretty much like the Mclaren Mp4/4. Nowadays you have a good amount of online shops where you can get them
It's one of the simple Tamiya F1 kits, not that hard. Two tips, be careful when handling the suspension arms as they can break pretty easily and when assembling the gearbox side covers (the red ones), dry fit the whole engine assembly to the chassis so they align correctly to it. If you need help in something, feel free to ask
I would love some help, thanks.I am a very inexperienced modeller.I am intending to start maybe this Sunday coming,I have just bought an airbrush, will need to try and get up to speed, although i have tin of Humbrol Acrylic Italian Red,so I could use that instead of making mistake due to lack of experience with airbrush....Thanks again.....Tony (Michael) Walsh in Cork.............. crestfieldview@gmail.com

Superb. Really outstanding. I have this same kit and am working on it now. You have set very high standards for it.
Thank you very much. The difficult part was to fix the previous assembled parts and paint. Other than that is a pretty easy build

Gorgeous model of the most gorgeous race car. Nice work
Many thanks Bob, but for me the most gorgeous one will always be the Benetton B190
Great job, and one of the most beautiful cars every built. Although I prefer the early version without the overhead air intlet.
Thank you.
It is a very elegant car
Excellent work truly inspiring!
Thank you Rivazza; I try my best

tamiya sucks
Bravo! I'm looking at buying this one too. I really enjoy building F1 cars.
Thank you! Tamiya F1 cars are pretty neat to build, and in 1/20th a joy to look at. Oh and these older models are really cheap these days
Did you use a clear coat on the bodywork? Looks amazing
Thanks you, I did. In this case I used TS13 from Tamiya
@@TMModelkits thanks,
I’m building the same model but I’ll bet it won’t look this good
Did you clearcoat with the tamiya after or before decals?
@@jasontaylor5580 After, taking care in the first two layers, spraying only mist coats. After it cured, it was just a matter of sanding and polishing
I know this kit. You did a superb job. 👍🏻 😃
Thank you my friend. It was a mess at the beginning so I had to work hard to do it justice
How did you stick the aliminium down?
I used white glue, works like a charm
What red is this and from what manufacturer?
It's Ferrari red from Humbrol Enamel nr 220
Is that regular aluminum foil that you used for the engine bay?
Yes, the one used for food
Hey, great work! How long did you take to build this beauty?
Thank you. It took me about a month
Awesome job! I asked for this for Christmas last year, didn't get it, and now it's impossible to find unless it's like £80!
When prices escalade like that, Tamiya usually re-issues the kit to stop it.
I've seen that with the Leyton house and the 1/12 Porsche 934
@@TMModelkits that's true. I have the Lotus 7 on preorder but I had seen prices shoot up this summer.
@@BOABModels I think the Lotus 7 is on their list
@@TMModelkits yeah, mine should be coming next week! 😁
@@BOABModels nice
how did you paint the coilovers??
By hand, no big secret here, just some paint, a brush and a steady hand
@@TMModelkits damn nice work
@@authority3888 thank you my friend

Excelent
Thank you Eric
Excelente!
Gracias
Do the instructions come with the colour each part should be?
In the case of Tamiya, yes, they call out the color of each part
Great job! I'll inspire myself from your model! Where or how did you come up with the Marlboro decals? They did not put any references to cigarettes in the one I have. Thanks in advance!
The logo is an extra to purchase. Try Ebay
Cigarette decals are available from specialized die cast stores and ebay
