- Continuing a tour of my sketchbooks. This one Started and completed from May 2009- August 2009.
Here's a link to my very first sketchbook tour! • Sketchbook Tour no.1, ...
And a link to my third tour:
• Sketchbook Tour no.3
I love sketchbook tours. This was one of the better ones. I love how you balance the composition with where you chose to color in things in the scene.
Thank you for your kind words. I definitely was more conscious of how my spreads looked in this sketchbook. My current sketchbook practice isn't that curated... call me lazy ;-)
I really enjoyed these sketches! I'm surprised you still remember so much about them, and it made the tour really interesting:)
Thank you! I enjoyed revisiting them. I think part of the power of drawing a scene is that I'm in the moment absorbing not only what I'm drawing visually, but my other senses are engaged and that helps imprint that moment in my memory...
This is incredible I love how it shows everyday situations it's freshing
Thank you! I get more enjoyment drawing the everyday over the "spectacular". When I look back at a drawing i usually can remember the circumstances surrounding it. Always nice to remember that I might have had a nice chat with a person beside me or that I had a great pastry while drawing at a Cafe. ;-)
Your drawings are absolutely amazing!Your sense of perspectives is really good! Moreover the colour washes make them more vivacious! Thanks for sharing your work.
Thank you for the kind words, Rubina
Your use of typeface with pictorial elements is really brilliant. Thanks for posting your work. I really enjoyed this video.
Thanks, Fat Hobbit!
Wilffred- really epic ~ 💯
Thanks!
Wow love it😍
Thank you!
i am just absolutely in love with this sketchbook tour !! your art is so, so beautiful !! you're really inspiring !! i'll have to watch your other videos soon, too !!
Thanks for the kind words.... honestly, I look back at these earlier sketchbook and kind of cringe. Although I'm still happy with a few spreads in this sketchbook. ;-)
i love them.. ! could you do your other sketchbooks too??
Thanks! I'm planning to do the third one this weekend!
I love your style! What kind of sketchbook is this? I’m always looking for THE one. 🙂
Thanks, Dominique! I think this was a stillman and birn. I'm not too sure which particular line it is, but the paper is definitely thicker than the paper is in my current sketchbook.
