I live in Milwaukee and it always amazes me that the one of the biggest airshows in the world is just an hour or so north of me. I wonder how many people in WI don't know or appreciate what we have. It really is amazing how something began in a guy's garage and grew into what it is.
This is so poetic Josh, you did an amazing job to capture not only the heart and soul of oshkosh or even your own soul for that matter you captured the essence of flying and what is to love about it. I feel like I missed the boat on getting my licence as it's so expensive in the U.K even to fly in rickety old planes and it's not going to get any cheaper so for now at least I can live aviation through you. 2:43-2:48 excellent!...I now have an idea of panel template and layout I want. With exception of autopilot and panel cutout I have all the other stuff equipped in plane. That looked very nice and clean. RV-8 is my favorite also!

Wonderful video. My late father in law loved Oshkosh. I wish I could have had time to go with him. My dad was a proud member of the Confederate Air Force and a former B-17 pilot. He would have loved it, too. Rest in peace both of you. I miss you.
Ah man, I use to cruise around with my dad in a 172 all about the southwest. Its 20 years later and hes gone but the main thing i think about when i have idle thoughts is those moments, catchin him fall asleep, how small the bladder was, and how incredibly slow driving in a car felt on the way home from the airport. Great vid man you really caught it.

Emotional one for me reminds me of when my grandfather took me to my first airshow and I fell in love with flight, being a student pilot some what 12 years later I know he would be proud it's hard to not have him here cause I know he would be with me every step of they way. I hope to some day have him there in spirt as I hear the words "welcome to Oshkosh" over my headset and set that airplane down as he smiles from up above knowing his grandson lived his dream and made it to Oshkosh

3:15 Fun fact: The first flight of the B-52 is closer in time to the Wright Brother's first flight than we are now to the first flight of the B-52. 49 and 65 years respectively. It is kind of mind blowing that the B-52 has been around long enough that there could be 3rd generation B-52 pilot. A current pilot could have had a father AND grandfather who flew that same plane. And it won't be long before HIS son or daughter is old enough to fly it.
