    I finally got my twist out method down after almost 5 years. I discovered it works better on dry hair and I have to do 9 chunky ones instead of 20 small ones. Love your technique!

    I prefer the LCO method. The LOC never worked for me, and I kept trying but I realized that sealing with an oil worked so much better, and it seems to work really good for LP hair too. I haven't done a twist out in a long time, but I found all my styles works on mostly dry but also a little damp hair and in medium to small sections.

    Ok I know you said oil locks in moisture, BUT you have to make sure it is a moisturizing oil and not a sealant oil. Moisturizing oils: coconut and olive oil and sealant oils would be like avocado oil or Jamaican black castor oil.

    What a coincidence, I used the LCO method this morning without realizing it and I noticed a difference. I spray my braids with water, then applied olive oil cream, then tea tree oil before I did the inversion method. My hair was noticeably softer+more moisturized. And we literally have identical hair, the color, pattern and everything! Big help, thanks for the cnfirmation!-New subbie:D

    Thanks for listing the other methods at 0:59 LOCO (Liquid, Oil, Cream, Oil) & LCOG (Liquid, Cream, Oil, Gel). When I start back styling my hair in two strand twists I will use LOCO. As of now I do wash n go's and include gel as my styler. I tried the LCOG method a couple days ago and I have nice second day hair. Thank you so much for your tips. It's working out well for my low porosity hair ❤️🙏🏿👩🏿

    Great video! Personally, I have to use one product that is capable of moisturizing my hair alone. The LOC, LCO, etc has never worked for me. 😕 My hair would be dry after 5 mins. To moisturize my hair, I apply the Qhemet Biologics Burdock Root Butter Cream to my hair and that's it. My hair is moisturized for days. Any other method or product has resulted in dry hair in seconds.

    I tried to do my 1st twist out yesterday/today. I twisted my hair last night, following all of the steps from another video I found. I took the twists down, using the same method as you used (oil on hands, gentle, etc). It was a massive fail! I felt so good about it last night, thinking that it would be really good! I was so excited! Then, this morning, I unraveled the twists and it looked like a hot, flaming mess. 😳 I was so disappointed.

    • @abates000

      Yes. They were dry. Maybe I just didn't do it right? It was my first time trying. My hair is at an awkward length and I was not sure if It was long enough to twist.

    • @TheStinalee201120
      @TheStinalee201120 8 лет назад

      After transitioning my first twist out didn't turn out that hot either. I realized later I made the twists too big and they weren't dry when I took them down.

    What is your hair type? You hair type look close to mine. I really need a regimen for my hair because my natural could be so fustrating at times. Dealing with dryness and it is the type that can get very tangled like if it wants to locs, make you feel like quitting. This clip is very informative. Thanks

    • @brionasmart
      @brionasmart 8 лет назад +2

      Moisture, low manipulation, maintenance, and patience are key for a successful transition. Dry hair leads to hair breaking off and it does feel good, making it hard to style hair. Deep conditioning and clarifying your hair often feels good and gives your hair a clean slate. And protective styling is a great way to retain length, keeping your hands out of your hair but make sure you're always moisturizing you hair NO MATTER WHAT.

    i love your channel you have very similar hair to mine. i have been wearing wash and gos for probably two weeks straight now. it had been soft and super coily. last night i used your technique for blowing out hair with low heat and stretching only. i thendid a bantu knot out . last night my hair was well moisturized and sealed. i have found in the past that my issue is that the next day my hair will not be as moisturized, but will still have which ever oil i used to seal. so it ends up dry and brittle, but the grease is still there. how do i re moisturize? or what am I doing wrong?

      Jay Jay I use the LOC method every night and it seems to work for me. I also do not use heat on my hair and after washing I use a cotton pillow case to dab my hair about 80% dry. I wash my hair every 10 days alternating with a Protein Deep Condition and an Olive Oil Deep Conditioner. I've been natural since March 2015 and will never relax my hair again. It seems like lot of hard work, but the result has definitely been worth it. Good Luck. ☺️
