I love antagonist focused stuff, those things often show us more sides of them.
Stalker for most of the time has been presented as a vengeful figure that will stop at nothing to kill us because of his hatred, but here we see a stronger side of him. He's protective. He tried everything to save his dying wife, including asking for help from those he hate, and he (literally) single handedly took out a horde of Corpus soldiers to protect his newborn son.
The Corpus while greedy are still human at their core, and their humanity shined here. The Captain at first followed Stalker because she wanted a high position in her ranks, she also gave the impression she will stop at nothing to get that position. But after hearing the baby's cry, she did stop. She gave up the oppotunity for a higher rank and let Stalker go.

I can never really find myself liking any media that has the villain be the villain just because. I want to see them humanized, I want to feel conflicted about having to harm them because I see the humanity within them. This one scene helped humanize the Corpus even more.

Stalker never hated the Tenno for destroying the Orokin, he just realized that his target for vengeance was already dead.

It’s nice to know that the corpus at least have their humanity and are not above killing children to further their goals for domination that is nice to see plus stalker actually showing human emotion like a genuine love for his kid legit almost brought me to tears and how the corpus actually show stalker respect and let him go I think this is literally the first time in corpus history that they have let a warframe go willingly

Sorren/shadow is free of his operator. he is similar to umbra in the sense that he Awoke from the infested slumber a warframe is put in, he isnt a warframe, he is a living man inside the warframe shell (probably explains his Anger with the tenno, for using people as weapons)

For the corpus as a whole, this was a wasted opportunity.
For the captain and the crew who witnessed Stalker's flight, this was the single greatest moment of their lives.

Have I been missing something for years or have the Corpus been getting more and more humanized, lately ? Between the Sevagoth quest and this, I'm starting to see values beyond just "need to make all the money". And I like it.

I feel like this comes from Granum's reestructure of the Corpus, as his ideals focus on "Never stay idle, always push forward to get what you want." and while people like Parvos himself are quite problematic because that mean the second our interests clash he'll stop at nothing to get what he want, there are people like Captain Xeto, who'll abide by her code, even if it means allowing Stalker to escape.

    • @deltaxiii7803

Probably there are some clash of morals in corpus like some are taking sides on who they follow and their ideals and morals on what they should do, in other words its a political civil war in corpus

If this is Grineer, Worm Queen would have order troops to shoot him anyway.
That why I like Corpus (especially Granum) more than Grineer, after all the bad thing they did they still shown to have some humanity left in them.
I still like some Grineer like Kahl and Clem though, but as a big picture I always like Corpus more.
Edit: miss type 'especially Granum' with 'except Granum'

When Stalker revealed the baby in his arm, with the scythe in the other, something jumped to my mind. Chow Yun fat on the poster for 1992's Hard Boiled. Badass with a shotgun and a baby. I'm betting someone at DE has fine taste in action movies.

I quite enjoyed Stalker here. Normally he’s hell-bent on killing everyone he sees, with a particular fondness for killing Tenno, but here, he’s too focused on getting his child to safety to kill anyone, aside from… Everyone on the way up the elevator.
