President Cyril Ramaphosa is delivering the memorial lecture on the life of Elijah Barayi.
Barayi was a trade union leader who sacrificed his life in the struggle for peace, freedom and the building of a non-racial, non-sexist, democratic society in South Africa.
He was one of the founding leaders of the National Union of Mineworkers and became the Congress of South African Trade Unions President at its launch in 1985.
