Minny worked for Mrs Walters for years so they know each other well. In the book Minny reveals there times when she don't want anyone getting under her feet and even Mrs Walters respected that and left Minny alone to get on with her job and wouldn't even let Hilly come over lol so as soon as Minny moved that pie out of her reach Mrs Walters immediately looks at Minny and knows something isn't right thats why she stays quiet and lets it play out until the penny dropped 🤣🤣 I have to say though Minny is a genius doing what she did she literally gave Hilly her just desserts and came away with a psychological hold over Hilly because there is no way in hell Hilly would ever risk that story getting out because it would the ultimate humiliation for all and sundry to know she ate two slices of Minny's shit, complimented her on the pie and worst of all she savoured every mouthful lol. Can you imagine how disgusted and ashamed Hilly felt everyday knowing she enjoyed eating that pie and then to have to read about it in the book she must have been terrified of people working it out 🤣🤣🤣
What I love about this is that Minnie doesn't even have to actually put her poo in the pie. The mere suggestion was enough to mess with Hilly and she will forever be haunted by it. Absolutely brilliant!

Hilly is a busybody who tries to control everyone and if people don't fall into line with her she goes out of her way to be vindictive, she publicly kicks Skeeter out the Junior League and makes her a social pariah like Celia, she tells everyone at the Benefit that Celia is a drunk and a pathlogical liar who tricked Johnny into marrying her because she was pregnant, she uses her influence with Yule Mae's trial judge (Hilly is friends with his wife) to get Yule Mae the maximum prison time which is 4 years and the Judge also fines her the maximum amount which wipes out their twins college fund. She uses Elizabeth so she can get Aibileen to watch her kids when her maids get fired and not many of them want to work for her because of Yule Mae and she keeps Elizabeth in line by being hot and cold and it makes Elizabeth obsessed with pleasing Hilly at all times. Hilly is a nasty piece of work but she gets her karma in the end because most of the society ladies work it out that Hilly is the woman in the pie story and plan to vote her out as President of the Junior League only Elizabeth and a few others stay loyal to her.
