- This CX4 is one of my favorite weapons. It is fun to shoot, super accurate, and super reliable. It is a carbine shooting a pistol caliber. What does that mean?
It means NO RECOIL at all.
It means you get the stability and accuracy of a long gun.
It means the same round delivers 25 - 30% more energy (the same sized round goes faster)
I don't believe the CX4 ever took off in the LEO world because departments rarely issue Beretta pistols any longer. The reality is Glock has really taken over LE. I know you guys will tell me about some hillbilly department in wherever that carries something else...and I realize it isn't 100%. But, it is strong. Glock needs to come out with a carbine. Departments would buy it...which makes civilians want it. It would work. Should every officer be issued one. Of course not. The 12 Gauge, AR platforms will still have many LE uses and are tools needed depending on the situation. A carbine using the same magazines as the officers pistol would just be another tool. But, in my buck-toothed hillbilly opinion, it would be a very useful tool and could cover many LE scenarios.

I bought my .40 CX4 storm in 04 or 05 and bought some 20 round magazines from Pro Mag for it. The storms use the same mags as the beretta 96 so the 20 rounders were for the beretta 96. I have had some failure to feeds over the years with the 20's but I have never had a F2F with the 10 round mags that came with the CX4. Also Ruger makes the PC carbine that uses Glock magazines. Its a pretty good shooter too.
The CX4 is a fine weapon. I am a little familiar with it. And I like the Ruger carbine too. Both nice weapons. Thanks for watching!
