She's a very sincere musician. This rare quality come through every pieces she's played in this competition. I really hope she goes far. We need more pianists like this.
So true, I truly wish more pianists would play like this! Every single note in a composition must be polished until is is as perfect as an Indian Diamond-what a sad case with most of today's pianists!

I've been listening to pianists who will be in the upcoming Cliburn Competition, and I've gotten no further than Ms. Kim. What a marvel, what an original she is! Her Bach, Schubert, and Chopin have made such an impression on me that I've listened to her all day. I first experienced a musician who truly loved the music he was playing when I heard Dinu Lipatti's Schumann Concerto, way back in the '50s. Here it is again, an unmistakable love for music. It's irresistible.
Ms. Su Yeon Kim has the rare gift to make music dancing and singing.
Similar as the waltz she has played in the 2nd stage, there were obvious wrong notes in the treble register, considering both pieces are not technically too difficult, is she getting too nervous or it was hand injury?
For me, her interpretation Op.22 is way tooooooo elegant, while I wish it could be more brillante :) anyway it's a matter of my personal taste.
Like her Fourth Chopin Ballade and Third Chopin Sonata, the Andante one falls nothing short of miracle-I cannot express how elegant this is in words alone-like Ruiguang Yang says, she has a rare gift to make music dance and sing! Her lyricism captured the heart of this listener! Her Andante is out of this world-what a rare, rare, rarely seen gift and talent we have in this pianist!Not a single note is left out. A precious crystal diamond in every note she plays, hands left and right!
Her opening of the Polonaise is orchestral-sounding, like it should be-I do not like that she rushes the ending of the Polonaise's introduction. Elegance is once again seen in the Polonaise.
A very good pianist. She integrates well many elements and her phrase is cohesive but she also lacks the fiery bravura expected of great performances.
This was very good! Although, in my opinion Kate Liu played it better, this girl is truly a talented pianist.

Grande Polonaise delights us with skittish conjunction of ribald pride and uhlan fantasy eluding its epic fatality with the ride of ego death that ends up fortunately on ephemeral, pearly besprinkle. Thank you, Lady!
