I wouldn't think Bryn Terfel would ever do that role. Sergej Larin would be a great Carlo, though! I've only ever heard him in that DVD of Turandot in the Forbidden City and always wondered what happened to him.

Как замечательно, что остались записи замечательного тенора Сергея Ларина. Много слушала его по MEZZO. Терфила тоже хорошо знаю.

Hvorostovsky who died in 2017 at the age of 55. A great loss

It was on the 30 of June 1996, " Italienische Nacht ", Waldbühne in Berlin. The soprano Angela Gheorghiu was fantastic too.

He died. I heard him live at SF Opera in Tosca. Very sad.
