I am a new subscriber . Great channel 👍 . I'm 57 and just started getting back into playing guitar after a 20 break . I have my Spark Go coming in on Wednesday or Thursday . My friend has one and loves it . Luckily I kept my 1981 Hamer Special . I am the original owner . Bought it when I was 15 or 16 . Keep putting out the great content 👍 .

What does updating firmware do? I’ve had mine a few months and it works fine. Can someone explain what updating actually does?

And here I just about bought it... I don't have a PC or mac.... Should really be able to do this on the phone... Considering that's where the frigging thing runs on....

I don’t understand why Positive Grid can’t just send their products with firmware that is updated. I bought the Spark 40 over a year ago and had to update the firmware. I haven’t had to anything to it since and it works great. But no firmware changes for a year. I’m now getting the Go also, and in reviews I read some people do the update and turn the Go into an expensive paperweight. I held off buying it because of the problems I have read about.

Seriously! I have had some disconnect issues but they have all been quickly resolved by going to the Spark Go online manual. (I'll have to make some videos about that). I also have the 40 and love it. I'm excited for you to get the Go and let me know what you think! It really has been a blast being able to take it anywhere and play. Thanks for the comment! Look forward to hearing more from you.

I received my shipment of the Go amp. So far I decided not to update the firmware. My presets are already labeled RHYTHM, LEAD, SOLO and CUSTOM. It sounds good to me and I think it may be updated enough. Thoughts?

No, for $120, clean, a little dirty, kind of dirty, and dirty is not enough.
There's no chorus, no delay, no flanger, nothing.
It sounds like you are playing through a kids "my first amp" kit sold online for $5.
      Stay away from this product.
Buy something that's half the price and actually does what it's supposed to do when you take possession of it.

Great video. Huge shame on Positive Grid for their update process which is horrendous and confusing. This video shouldn’t be needed, but sadly it is. And even worse, i watched this too late - bc who would think you’d need to watch an entire video of what to not do when updating a device. Now my spark go is completely bricked bc i used the wrong software to update. Doesn’t respond to any button presses or show any lights etc. waiting for spark support to get back to me.

Did Positive Grid get back to you? I have found their support team to be super helpful. Did you get things fixed?

This is ridiculous. I bought the most expensive mini amp on the market and it's not even complete.
I have no idea what any of the terms you are using mean, I don't own a computer, and why was this thing allowed to leave the factory like this?
I emailed positive grid and they said I had to get in line and wait, and that if I emailed them again, it would put me further back on the list.
I would never have bought this thing if I had to finish the manufacturing end of it.
Horrible product, atrocious company, they should recall these things and fix them at their own expense.

Haha! I don't know if that is in response to my poorly made video or you are having difficulty updating the firmware. Either way, thanks for the comment. Would love to be of help if I can. 😁
