Xi'an, referred to as "Hao", was called Chang'an and Haojing in ancient times. It is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Shaanxi Province. It is the provincial capital of Shaanxi Province, a sub-provincial city, a mega city, the core area of Xi'an metropolitan area, and the core city of the Guanzhong Plain urban agglomeration. An important central city in the western region of China, and an important national scientific research, education and industrial base. As of the end of 2021, the city has 11 districts and 2 counties under its jurisdiction, with a total area of 10,752 square kilometers (including Xixian New District), a built-up area of 7,00.69 square kilometers, and a permanent population of 13.163 million people (including Xixian Common Area). In 2021, the city will realize a GDP of 1,068.828 billion yuan.
Xi'an is located in the middle of the Guanzhong Plain, with the Wei River in the north and the Qinling Mountains in the south. Since ancient times, Xi'an has been known as "Eight Waters Surrounding Chang'an". One, the starting point of the Silk Road, in history, 13 dynasties built their capitals here, Fenghao Capital City, Qin Efang Palace, Terracotta Warriors, Han Weiyang Palace, Changle Palace, Sui Daxing City, Tang Daming Palace, Xingqing Palace, etc. Outline the "Chang'an Complex".
Xi'an is one of the best tourist destinations in China and one of the cities with the best international image in China. Two of the six heritage sites have been included in the "World Heritage List", namely: Qin Shihuang Mausoleum and Terracotta Warriors, Big Wild Goose Pagoda, Small Wild Goose Pagoda, Tang Chang'an City Daming Palace ruins, Han Chang'an City Weiyang Palace ruins, Xingjiao Temple Pagoda. There are other scenic spots such as Xi'an City Wall, Bell and Drum Tower, Huaqing Pool, Zhongnan Mountain, Datang Furong Garden, Shaanxi History Museum, and Forest of Steles. Xi'an has 7 "double first-class" universities including Xi'an Jiaotong University, Northwestern Polytechnical University and Xidian University. In February 2018, the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development issued the "Guanzhong Plain City Cluster Development Plan", which supports Xi'an to build a national central city, accelerates the construction of a three-dimensional transportation system in the Xi'an metropolitan area, and builds an international city with historical and cultural characteristics. For those watching who can’t read Chinese or don’t know the city well, here are some notes about where you’re headed, timestamped along the way.
1:30 starting off heading south on NanDaJie to the South Gate. Through the gates then southbound on Chang’an North Road.
7:15 Parking on the right for the Shaannxi Provincial Stadium. And then crossing 2nd Ring Road south section.
14:35 Nearing the Shaanxi TV Tower and Shaanxi Nature Museum in the globe.
17:42 U-turn heading north now.
18:16 Right turn on YanZhan Road.
20:26 Turn left heading north on CuiHua Road.
25:40 turn right on Cien Road. DaYan South Square on the left. Everbright City on the right. Highly recommended.
26:53 The famous DaYanTa.
29:42 Don’t get confused here: You’re on the section of Furong Road East which is west of Furong Road West. Turning right on XiYing Road. Then right again on Furong Road West.
36:44 The park on the right side is where a portion of the southern section of original Sui-Tang Dynasty City Wall was located. Drive on south side and then u-turn back along YanNanEr Road.
43:15 QuJiang Pool and Ruins Park. These roads are lit up beautifully at night!
44:24 Entrance on the left for the burial site of the second Qin Emperor, son of Qin Shi Huang Di.
48:18 entrance to Xi’anRaoCheng Expressway. Toll Road.
54:15 Exit highway all the way over to ZhangBaLiu Road.
55:35 Turn east to JinYe Road. Then north onto TuanJie South Road for fifteen minutes north here,
1:10:23 Avoid the motorbikes at elevated Kunming Road. Turn east.
1:11:20 On the right is a grey stone PaiFang gateway signifying the north end of the Sui-Tang City Wall ruins park - the western edge of the Tang city from the late 500s AD.
1:17:57 Difficult to see but the southwest corner of the Ming-era Xi’an City Wall is behind the trees.
1:18:37 Again on your left at the tunnel entrance is the Hanguangmen Gate. Inside the current wall are remnants of the original Sui-Tang Imperial City Wall. Highly recommended visit!
1:22:29 Through the city wall - Beilin Museum containing Forest of Stone Steles on the left.
1:24:49 Shaanxi Provincial Government Buildings.
1:27:10 Turn left onto JieFang Road. The roads are numbered along this stretch: on the left is west and the right is east. For instance West Fifth Street or XiWuLu and East Fifth Street DongWuLu. We turn right on DongWuLu at 1:28:06
1:29:20 Chaoyang Gate on the east side of the city wall.
1:32:40 Very large XiJing Hospital complex on the left side.
1:37:56 Approaching the East Gate - ChangLe Gate of the City Wall. Then travel west along DongDaJie one of the four cardinal direction streets in the city centre.
1:42:16 There it is, the famous Bell Tower. Physically not in the geographic centre of the inner city because it is closer to the South Gate than the North Gate.
1:43:36 Did you catch a glimpse in the very right of the frame of the Drum Tower?
1:47:23 Approaching the West Gate - AnDingMen.
1:55:11 The northern side of the XiaoYanTa pagoda park site is on the right.
1:56:27 The start of a straight line drive north through the South Gate, around the Bell Tower, the North Gate through the city.

@@markmontes007 Xi'an (Hsi'an) used to be the capital of China and is now a tourist city. Prices are more expensive. The lowest temperature in winter is -10℃. Not suitable for living. Spring and Autumn are good times to visit the ancient city.
@@markmontes007 THIS IS a northwest city, The economic development level is far behind the southeast city such as Ningbo,Hangzhou and Suzhou etc. So the living cost also is low.

去西安坐地铁，你会发现每一站的站名都是历史文化的积淀，不是哪个遗址就是哪个皇帝墓，从地铁坐扶梯往上走，相应的深度时间范围从古到今顺朝代分布都有古墓发现，就像地质岩一般可以看出年代。

西安的城市建设还不错，不过人文方面和沿海还有差距。如果对比一下其他城市的开车视频就能发现，西安开车按喇叭的明显多很多，车子在路上也不太规矩。希望西安在这方面多努力，赶上沿海城市。
本人就在这个城市长大，很喜欢这个城市的道路。西安是一个不会让人迷失方向的城市，道路是古代帝王构建的，正南正北笔直的，跟棋盘一般。我小时候以为所有城市都这样，后来到外地上学才知道城市道路也可以是乱七八糟的，走着让人不知道东西南北的。
西安的道路名称透露出这个城市的底蕴，尚勤路，尚俭路，友谊路，咸宁路，东西南北四条大街等，满满的人文气息。
我長期在深圳，疫情前去合肥住了一段時間，西安比合肥好太多了，合肥交通更亂與環境習慣都不好，西安有底蘊，部分合肥都是喜歡裝逼，很虛的，很貪小便宜的心態，卻又非常防人，就怕會被人佔任何一丁點的便宜，合肥是一個很不舒服的地方
我感觉是不是路太窄了 而且居民区的设计棋盘式 导致里面的核心区车流量很多

I know Iraq from Iraqi dates, which were sold in market in Xi’an 40 years ago.
30 years ago, people dont see china as a good country, but look at now, their technology are so advance, they can build train track in 9hours only, thats super crazy, they have the longest bullet train track km in the world, and even beat the second place country with the longest track km by multiple times. And they also support their own economy by using their own product.

@Keyboard Emperor It depends. Democracy doesn't always succeed. China has done some great achievements but the government heavily infringes on peoples freedom over there, which I'm not a big fan of.
@Keyboard Emperor I never even said anything about democracy. I'm just saying I don't like how much the Chinese government impedes on people's freedom. Intense mass surveillance, heavy censorship (the great firewall) and the social credit system for example.

This video is a shock to see how it has changed since I was there maybe 40 yrs ago. It was an ugly city with very bad smog/dust/pollution in the air. Landing at night on CAAC, the plane had to perform a go around because we were getting ready to land on the grass before the runway. The landing lights must have distorted the view due to the poor air quality. Seeing the terra cotta warriors was amazing.
Omg! I was not in this world 40 years ago! I believe that all cities in China were very backward at that time. At that time, a bicycle in China was already a very good means of transportation, and many Chinese people could not afford pork. China has undergone tremendous changes in the past few decades.

有些街道是梧桐（葉片大、遮陽），另一些是槐樹（國槐、葉子小），公園裏多為柳樹。鐘樓以南的「南大街」是銀杏樹。
