I would LOVE to see you explore more of Pennsylvania. I'm thinking of trails like the Quehanna Trail, which spans about 70 miles. It was my first attempt at an overnight hike, but it turned out to be a fail at overnighting, lol... Long story short, I was cutting it really close with temperature ratings and decided it just wasn't feeling right. The trail passes through some historic woods where the government tested nuclear jet engines, and it traverses the Quehanna Wild Area. It's a loop trail, and it's how I even discovered backpacking last year. Been binge-watching your videos, love em!
I have quite a few PA trips on the channel, more than I do for Ohio lol. I have some shakedown hikes to do for Uinta later this year so I’ll likely be doing West Rim again and most likely Allegheny Front. Any of the longer thru hikes will have to wait until next year as I already have a 80+ mile one this year. Thanks for watching!
That was a very enjoyable video. I live in florida now but I'm from west by God virginia and I miss it very much. Thank you for letting me see and remember the most beautiful country there is. Dwayne
I’m starting to know it pretty well, been there 3x and I’ve hit most of the trails. I plan on going back next year at least once. I really want to do a winter trip there.
Hello Travis….the wife and I are heading to Dolly Sods later this week….we are rookies so I was hoping you could give me a couple of shorter hikes (less than 10 miles) that we could take that would hopefully have some beautiful views. Thanks…love your videos..Harley
@@hwhoover54 The most scenic loop I can think of in that mileage range is Bear Rocks > Raven Ridge > Rocky Ridge > Dobbin Grade > Raven Ridge > Bear Rocks it’s about 11.7 miles with only 1,400’ gain
"The coldest winter I ever spent was summer on Dolly Sods"--the weather can certainly be "spectacular"--I was caught in a snow blizzard up there at the tail end of summer. For me, Dolly Sods is the best backpacking on the east coast--you can tack together any number of trips from the list of trails provided by the FSDA. Be prepared for the weather though--and it's usually soggy, and very windy--your audio sounded good.
2017 in DSW. Five days backpacking in heavy rain every single day. Over 10 inches rain fall...good times. Nothing like finding a fire pit under water. LOL
Send me some sort of proposal. I’m always willing to work with outdoor gear companies, I just want to make sure it’s a quality product before giving a recommendation to anyone.
Appreciate it buddy. I left some nice clips out because the wind noise completely blew out the audio, but it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. There were times I couldn’t even hear myself talking while I was recording, so the mic did great. Big shoutout to the iPhone 15 Pro as well. Half of these shots the wind was literally moving my body and the auto stabilization in the software made it look smooth. Technology is amazing lol
I have about 20 gear videos up on the channel, they make up about 1/3 of my videos. I don’t usually review gear unless I’ve used it extensively for at least six months, I don’t like talking about stuff unless I have experience with it. I do plan on doing more gear videos in the future for sure, but right now I’m enjoying peak backpacking season. Doing the Virginia Triple Crown this weekend. Thanks for watching!
Frogg Toggs rain gear is crap. If you have enough money for an expensive microphone and hammock system then you have enough for better rain gear. I wear Arc'teryx .
People hike the entire AT in Frogg Toggs. They will keep the rain off you in light precipitation. They're also a good wind breaker. They don't work well in heavy, sustained rain for hours on end, but neither do high end jackets. I recently purchased an OV Tushar as an upgrade, but the Frogg Toggs worked fairly well for me.
Great upload guys, this whole area is simply stunning! Beautifully presented
It’s one of my favorite places I can drive to and backpack for a weekend. Glad I got to see it in its fall glory.
This is absolutely beautiful!! Thank you for taking us along!
I finally got a chance to see the Sods in the fall, it was definitely worth it, thanks for tuning in.

Glad to have ya along. The sods are majestic any time of the year, but the fall is mind blowing.
Fun exact @6:51 that “lake” down below is actually a huge beaver pond.
Yes it is
Fine video btw...know DSW like the back of my hand, and you have a good RUclips channel.

I just hiked Harpers Ferry. Dolly sods is on my list. Im going to backpack Archers Fork in about a month.
Nice, you’ll really like Dolly Sods. Thanks for watching!
Love Dolly Sods, we also hiked in at night. Great time
One of my favorite places. I know where most of the campsites are now so I can save the PTO day and just night hike in lol
I live in Lexington, KY but i'm From and where my heart still is, Grafton Wv.
WV is my favorite place to hike within five hours of Ohio for sure, thanks for watching!

I’m up in the air between Dolly Sods, North Fork mountain and Roaring Plains being my favorite. Wish there were less people, but it sure it beautiful.

We caught some great colors for sure 👍
Great video and channel. Any chance on doing a product review of our Firestarter?

Wind noise isn't bad at all. Mic was a good investment 🙂

Have you even backpacked if you haven't night hiked with little glowy eyes watching you? LOL
The hills have eyes 👀
Start slamming out gear reviews to grow your channel. Everybody loves gear bro.
