I see the music videos as a metaphor for the relationship between a fan and NewJeans, or fans and idols in general. It's a very honest portrayal of both the good and bad sides of this relationship, the fact it was so genuine and honest makes it powerful.
Side A is metaphorically how we fall into a fandom, whereas Side B is how get out of fandom eventually as we grew mature and more things happening on us including having a relationship with an actual person than fantasy fandom. However this metaphor is too abstract to build a convincing plotline for this MV, so the scriptwriter/director fill in the gaps by adding a tons of detail and easter eggs. For example the Side A falling into fandom part metaphorically elaborate as a PTSD hallucination of her deceased friends perhaps happens last winter due to some accident perhaps hitting with a deer or something and hinted by Hee Soo casted arm from the beginning and New Jeans writing on it said "Don't Die" but none all these writings and drawings existed in other scene which also subtlely remind us how overaddicting to a fandom might seem too paranoid and unhealthy. And also how Hee Soo walk out of the hallucination in Side B by rejecting New Jeans to walk under rain with her friends even she hold the umbrella, ignore Minji calls and drop the camrecorder that filled with their memories from last year. That all symbolise how fan walk out of the fandom and get a real life to walk with the boy in that final scene until she grew up and come back to that club room to look for their VHS and let New Jeans reenter her life again.
As two interpretations, the first interpretation is that everyone died in an accident, and only Hee-su survived. The cast on his arm was from an accident. Memories before death in a, New Jeans in b seem to be ghosts. In the second interpretation, Hee-soo is a fan of New Jeans to the extent that everyone else sees her as strange. But he loves a man. In a, the heart is shaken between the beloved New Jeans and the falling in love Hannam. In b, Hee-su surrounded by New Jeans finally gets away from New Jeans. And he loves and meets men. However, my love for New Jeans remains deep in my memories. It seems to be a fan song music video that stands out with a shocking twist and two interpretations.
No official interpretation of MV exists yet. But in South Korea, large-scale disasters over the past few years have killed many young students. As a result, many students lost friends. Her arm injuries suggest she may have been a survivor of such an accident. She is unable to accept this because of her own sense of loss and acts as if her friends are still alive. But eventually she erases her friends from her mind. The fact that she destroys the camera she used to take pictures of her friends and walks in the rain with an umbrella alone without getting caught in the rain with her friends shows that fact. Also, she is no longer alone and meets a new love that fills her heart. The deer she sees represents herself. The difference between a deer standing still and a deer walking forward shows her change.
Don't forget that this is a B-Side Song. Their Title Track dated on *January, 2 ,2023.* I really feel that this is gonna be Another No Skip Album for sure..
The primary theory is that there was an accident which killed the girls with Heeso surviving hence the arm injury. They say deer is symbolism of passing / moving on. Some said that the deer was involved to the accident (possibly car crash)? 😄
Yea I think that the girls weren't real, or maybe spirits, all the students are just staring at her and to them she probably looks crazy or sad. People have said that the deer represents innocence and I think that's what New Jean's were, basically a group of imaginary friends representing the girls childhood or innocence. There is a clip of Heyin staring at the girl with the camera and idk if it's just me but it looks very similar to the deer staring at the girl. When she eventually finds love which is where the dude comes in she gets rid of her innocence and leaves them behind, shown when the deer finally walks off after it shows her walking with the guy.
IMO Side A : New Jeans are imaginary and it's about loneliness/disconnection from the world. Side B: (everyone I've seen write about it) New Jeans died in an accident and she is dealing with survivor's guilt and moving on (when they watch her walk in the rain and the camera cuts, but New Jeans aren't there and then cuts back and they are there again). Everyone is also saying how it is an allegory for the relationship between fans and idols [or even celebrities] and their sense of having a relationship with them. If you want another Kpop MV that does a similar concept watch Davichi 8282 and then Davichi I made a mistake.

If there was a film made about my teenage years it would be Ditto. 🥰

Amazing reaction! The song and videos def made me emotional as well! So great
I think all of her friends were dead. She couldn't let them go in side A, in side B she moved on and the boy helped her.
Exactly what I thought- this is haunting
