Porter Robinson - Sad Machine (jazzified)

- I struggled to pick and arrange the sequel to "Shelter" for the past month and I was finally able to feel satisfied with where I took "Sad Machine." There are pieces of four other songs (or five if you are a die hard fan of the other edm artist I included *wink face*) in the piano part that if you can hear, I'll be happy. I'm still just so grateful for all the love "Shelter" got last month, thank you guys.
"Reharmed" is the more appropriate description but after dropping the made-up word "jazzified" last time, I don't know how to start using "reharmed." Forgive me, jazz majors. My bachelor's is in jazz but edm has taken over my life.

This mix is so DELICIOUS. It's like going out to just eat ramen, but then they also bring karaage and gyoza, and suddenly they also bring pepperoni pizza, and then a nutella crepe and some mochi ice cream to finish it off. SO UNEXPECTED BUT SO DELICIOUS.

@@keudae the other you've mentioned are more edm sided. EDEN is a bit depressing & alternative...You could check his tracks "Love;not wrong" or "rock + roll". Im 100% you will love his tracks. Have a nice day ^^
you should really start uploading these songs in Spotify... I really want to hear them on the go or repetitively without pressing restart in RUclips... I remember I was bummed out when I search your name in Spotify and didn't find any.. I'd give my support if you need to open one in Spotify!
Aw thank you for saying that!! We actually reached our Spotify goal on Patreon and I've sent a whole cover album in for inspection, should be coming out this month :) Unfortunately there are no "jazzified" covers on it because the copyright licenses are complicated and expensive... maybe in the future though! :)

i know you’ve probably answered this before but how long exactly have you been playing? how long did it take to get this good?
I've been playing for about 22 years! I took classical piano lessons as a kid, then started playing pop songs by ear, and finally got my college degree in jazz :)
Still trying to rule out which song slaps the hardest for me and I think this one takes the cake, I loooooove this one 😭 (and your Heavy with hoping cover)

GOOD QUESTION. I think I need to do a Q&A video on this, it's kind of complicated. I made the two at different times, you see... but so... "keudae" is a lyric in k-pop that I liked a lot before I learned Korean and "aihaeyo" is a word I MADE UP with a mix of Japanese and Korean and thought it was cute, it means "I love you" (ai is love in Japanese and "haeyo" is the verb bit and together you get "I love you" oh my gosh I hope that helped. But yes, good Q&A question!

Forget reharmed, this is jazzified! It's your word now, you should keep using it! Ok so first, I'm not sure you used enough chords in this one 😜 But so many cool chord moments. I'm not even going to get specific or I'd basically just end up transcribing your whole arrangement. Love the section where you keep landing on the minor 4 chord too. And obviously Wake Me Up is a super highlight. But I want to hear a solo section! haha And I love your "scored" exit. Very James Brown 😂 This was such a good follow up for your jazzified series, and you're going to have to give me a homework list of some of your favorite EDM so I can know all of the songs you quote in your arrangements!
Hahaha the minor four I actually used from the original "Sad Machine" but with the rhythms of "Sunset Jesus" it worked out so well it's unnoticeable! "SCORED EXIT" yes that is what I shall be doing from here on out! But I am not sure I will be taking your solo section idea because I don't want people to UNSUBSCRIBE hahahahaha. My knowledge of EDM artists is all over the place right now but Porter Robinson, Madeon are gods. And I'm working on listening to Illenium, Gryffin, Seven Lions, and Dabin! 💙
