Thaayu. You have hit the nail on the head. The Europeanization of Agikuyu Culture was a big curse on our sacred land. I live in America, and the divorce rate here is more than 60%. The average marriage does not last more than 5 years. With such dismal marriage statistics, it baffles me why any Gikuyu man or woman would be interested in imitating European society. I hope we can wake up and return to our roots.
Our forefathers we mercilessly subdued by the foreigners due to a number of factors.. Yes, they resisted but they were divided by wazungus. Then as now, the wazungu had advantages of advanced technology and better weapons. The culture and the traditions were greatly interfered or done away with for almost 130 years. That said,, there has to be a starting point.. to correct things.after realising the mess..
