GREAT Job. One question... Why not use simple male/female replacement connectors? That way they could be unplugged in the future instead of having to cut them, in order to take off the tank.
Degrease that scooter so you can see what s going on plus it wont catch on fire one day . Fixing your bike before you ride just puts you in a bad headspace anyway.

That’s one badly corroded bike,I’ve a 1997 RS. And it’s no where near as bad😢
