- Hindustani music style is mainly found in North India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. It exists in four major forms: Dhrupad, Khyal (or Khayal), Tarana, and the semi-classical Thumri. Dhrupad is ancient, Khyal evolved from it, Thumri evolved from Khyal. Dhrupad (or Dhruvapad), the ancient form described in the Hindu text Natyashastra, is one of the core forms of classical music found all over the Indian subcontinent. The word comes from Dhruva which means immovable and permanent.

@Charlotte Raynes Well you see, I listen to this kind of music in my head when I'm swimming under the ocean with fish, sharks, dolphins, octopuses, whales, and more marinelife.
They practiced meditation and experimented with sounds that would make it easier to go to a different place. The tanpura always makes you go somewhere else. I assume meditation played a large part, hence the "3rd eye" concept of the pressure of the forehead and focus.

As a pakistani, I am in love with india. This music so magical and so peaceful. The people are so beautiful and nice, the dances aee amazing the clothes saari is so beautiful. From 1st min to 5 mins: it is repeating "Rang Pichkari Mat Maaro". Pichkari is a water gun, inside which we fill colored water and throw at each other during festival Holi. Rang means Color. So, the above phrase literally mean "please (implicit), don't throw the colored water from the water gun at me." O man, it's difficult for me as well. As it turns out, this music seems to have originated from somewhere in Mathura & Vrindavan, India. Next phrase around 6:00 is saying "Ja rhi mai Jamuna jal bharne, kahe rokat, gulal fekat. Kalaayi mori chhodo" refers to a girl saying (with the innocence and cheerfulness of a girl, seems like she is saying it to her lover) : I am going to fill water from river Yamuna, why you're stopping me, why you're throwing gulal (color) at me. Leave my wrist please." It'll take a whole lot of time to translate everything, so just enjoy.

India is (Let’s be real now and people arguing No Papua New Guinea is the most diverse, Papua New Guinea dosent have native people from multiple races so…) The most diverse country. We have over 1000 languages and dialects and 100s and 100s of ethnic groups such as the Rajasthani, Punjabi, Tharu, Assamese, Meitei, Gujarati, Nepali, Tamil, Telugu, Goan, Adivasi, Tulu, Bhojpuri, Marathi, Bengali, Kashmiri, Konkani, Malayali, Kannadiga, Mizo, Munda, Parsi, Pangal, Asur, Awadhi, Jat, Koch, Korean, Limbu, Odia. That’s an incredibly small few out of the hundreds and hundreds of other groups and even though most of these groups number in the millions (most of them having a population higher than the countries such as the UK, Germany and Turkey) and yet still these groups don’t make 50% of the population.
Afghan is part of the Indian subcontinent so it’s likely you have high Indian ancestry. Was part of India too during ancient times
