@@withmargaI’d suggest you to keep them protected, because I owned 15 pro max and think that protector ruins my photo and decided to take it out. After a few weeks something scratch my rim of camera and yeah it looks bad just like what Xr happen today. Luckily I have an apple care plus so that I don’t need to care much. You have to take a risk using them without lens protector, but if u have an apple care plus its fine you could even use it without lens protector and caseless
