    The cords are short. I do add fine nylon mesh to the top of my cannister to help scrub the water. Mine has held up for over a year.

      There could be water on the tube that goes outside your tank. I attached mine to an aerator to make sure no water gets trapped inside the tube

  • @RuseMediaVideo
    @RuseMediaVideo Год назад +3

    So the see through air tube do I keep that above the water? Like, outside in the air , and its supposed to suck fresh air into the pump right? I've had it under the water level as the instructions are so bad

    • @TheAquaticCoder
      @TheAquaticCoder  Год назад +1

      Yes I believe it should be above water and do what you think. I agree, I actually didn't know what it was for until after I made this video. I've just ran mine fully underwater without the tube but I don't get the additional air bubbles.

      Your delayed in success probably comes from the fact that this filter is rated for 40-90 gallons. Your tank is a gallon, and I take these measurements on the box with a grain of salt and err towards the smaller end.

    • @TheAquaticCoder
      @TheAquaticCoder  2 года назад

      Mine has still been working with no issue. I used it for about 6-9 months straight on a goldfish tank without any issues. I moved some fish and equipment around in the last few months and am not currently using it but it lasted for over 6 months straight without issues and is ready if I need to set it up again at any point.

      Hi buddy, hope you are well. I just ordered myself a jup23. How is your holding up? It has been a year since you posted this reply. Also does the uv bulb have a quartz tube that needs to be cleaned? Usually uv sterilizers have a quartz tube surrounding the bulb

    Do you keep it on 24hrs or only a couple of hours per day? I hear that it melts the metal, how do you deal with that or have you deal with it?

    • @TheAquaticCoder
      @TheAquaticCoder  2 года назад +3

      When I ran it on my 65g I kept it running about 8 hours a day due to suggestions online. Now I have it in my Goldfish tank running 24 hours. I have not had any issue with melting yet. Although my goldfish tank is at a lower temperature (70-72 F) so that would likely help with the melting. Although I did not experience that ever yet.
