A critical thought to you, Mr. Nye to extend your point; a carbon tax is a 'push' force to promote behavior towards reducing carbon. However, let us also be mindful of the 'pull' forces; to implement reduced-carbon methods must be easy, quick, and intrinsically cost-effective or cost-saving with and without a carbon tax. We need to plan the price point of a carbon tax to be higher than the cost point (money, time and effort) to implement carbons reduction and we must be mindful that such methods exist as practical and effective.
This balance of push and pull must be carefully considered.

Good point with the amount of greenhouse gas / pollution / deforestation caused by the animal agriculture industry.
The average American eats way more meat / protein per day than they actually need, it seems logical that if we can encourage more non-meat dishes and that it isn't essential to have daily, then we might make some easy initial changes which slow down rate of climate change.
Needed: A rational and doable approach to making our world a better place to live. Nothing diminishes anxiety faster than action.
