    There were over 4,000 firefighters on this fire. They reduced it to less than 1200 and a lot of the equipment to fight the fire also left. It was 83% contained, and now this happens. It is now 76% contained. Whoever is in charge has some explaining to do. This is absolutely horrible. Now a lot of lives and property is in danger. Please stop this fire.

      In Montana, there was a let it burn type attitude with the forest service in which a lightning strike caused a fire on top of a mountain…ended up burning forest service cabins and having the town of Lincoln evacuated costing the taxpayers millions. Now guess what homeowners insurance costs in that area?….😳

    • @cagal1066
      @cagal1066 Месяц назад +5

      @@SomerainTsalagi These slopes are very steep and a good chunk of it is chaparral so it's not good for logging and what is there is mostly yellow pine that's been chewed up by bark beetles. So it's incredibly expensive because you have to deal with helicopters and then what you get out of that is pretty much trash. So unless the federal government starts actually funding forest management it's not going to happen. And oh by the way there are millions upon millions of acres that would have to be dealt with in the West so again it's not going to happen.

    I do not understand why they are lighting fires in the middle of a raging fire next to the highway that they are trying to prevent the fire from crossing. I see many firefighters standing around and no helicopters dropping water but lots of fire beings set by firefighters I cannot understand this as there is a raging fire going on and what happened we all thought this fire was under control ? I understands as we all do that the fire fighters are working hard but clearly there is a huge incompetency here as they fire was under control a week ago there is no excuse as there are wildlife and houses to protect and nature and endangered species. Are they just going to let the entire forest burn up instead of lighting the forest on fire why not do it the old fashioned way and drop water that worked back in the day. You do not do controlled burns in a out of control raging fire its destructive and nonsensical. Stop doing controlled burns next to highways or in the forest we are losing enough acreage and nature and wildlife habitat... Water drop the Water!!!!!!! Where are the helicopters !!! They are far from standing around these men and women have been fighting this fire for almost a month now, they are working in areas that have no access for them to do anything. so, since mother nature has the upper hand shit has to burn. It is the way life was before we inhabited it. Sad but true but please refrain from making it look like they are not doing their job. This was never a controlled burn to begin with, it was arson. @@pcatful I'm not talking about cutting down the forest. I'm talking about responsible land management. It is illegal in the state of California to go onto government "managed" land and clean up dead folage, remove weeds, etc. I ride my bike in Big Bear. It was a fire waiting to happen. If I took a weed trimmer up there and tried to clean up the overgrown weeds I could be fined or go to jail. I know a guy who has a business selling fire wood. He would love to go up to the mountains and remove some of the old trees, which would make the forest healthier. Read the Ca state code section 4306 and see if you agree that's healthy land management. If so, we have nothing further to discuss.
