    • @chesterlester5770
      @chesterlester5770 3 года назад +1

      It is of course! But compared to a Man City or Liverpool or Leicester it isn’t as good imo

    • @danniwilder2198
      @danniwilder2198 Год назад +1

      @@chesterlester5770 Cobham is easily comparable to the best training grounds in England, if not better than them. For starters it is twice the size of Man City's & Tottenham's. Leicester's is actually bigger than Chelsea's even because it was built on a golf course. Spurs have a nice new training ground called 'Spurs Lodge'. I know it has 12 pitches whereas Cobham has 33 pitches (City have 17).
      Of the 33 pitches at Coham they have 6 that are of the exact same standard to the pitch at Stamford Bridge.
      They have indoor pitches, an onsite school so the kids can do their maths, etc, at Cobham. The club has two half Olympic size swimming pools, a moat that goes all around the complex, a grassed roof, a private road that runs between the training ground & the academy. And a few years ago the club bought a fantastic little 5,000 seater stadium where the U21's & the women's teams play their games.
      Then an added little bonus is how Cobham is situated in one of the nicest & most affluent areas in the south of England. I know the club has purchased several 5 bedroom detached homes in the past, one of which was for the parents of Ruben Loftus-Cheek. They can then use these desirable homes as a sweetner if they believe it will help persuade a player to sign a contract with the club.
      You mentioned Liverpool. I don't think their training ground complex & the way there are rows of houses that look over into the training ground is a desirable thing.

    • @rhowell1978
      @rhowell1978 Год назад

      @@danniwilder2198 Unfortunately Cobham doesn’t have 2 half size olympic pools, the buildings are too small as it’s in the green belt and the pool is 17 metres long. I suspect it’ll be eventually upgraded and expanded, I think it was in the takeover agreement.

      @@popaoctavian1795 at the time it was built it was head and shoulders above any training facilities in the country. It was the benchmark for many years and other clubs did not catch up for a very long time, many international teams and European clubs would famously use London Colney when playing European/international games in the UK. Obviously lots of clubs have now blown it out of the water but it is still top facilities and improvements have been made to it over the years. I know what you mean it has an old character feel to it.
