I can't explain why my wife has stayed with me for 25 years, but when I hear this song I think of her and the fact that I am certain she is my Guardian Angel! Please react to more of Sarah's songs. She has one of the most beautiful souls on this planet!

Sarah is a Canadian and all of her music is pretty much as beautiful and thoughtful as is represented in this song. She really broke ground in the 90's and subsided somewhat in the early 2000's. Her type of music is hard to describe. Its thought provoking and the music is moving. Love to hear you react to any of her songs!!

A penetrating truth in this songs story. Sarah is Canadian and daughter of Canadian singer Murray. A folk singer in the 60s/70s. Here is one of her fathers recordings. ruclips.net/video/HTMvtII8Elk/видео.html
The sound you heard on the outro is an electric guitar feedback fx.

About how bad and lonely it is until the drug takes effect.

I agree with your appreciation of Sarah's vocal talents, but it might sound a little strange hearing my fellow Canadian singing the American national anthem. Lol. Since her ex-husband is of Indian descent (I believe) and her youngest child is named India, maybe the national anthem of India would work? Just a thought. Personally, I could be happy listening to Sarah "Mac" singing the phone book! (Or Stevie Nicks for that matter. Another amazing vocalist!)

The Fleetwood Mac lead guitarist, in my opinion, Lindsey Buckingham, is one of the best guitar players of all time. If you want to hear more of his playing, his song, "You Can Go Your Own Way" that he sings also has an amazing guitar solo, I'm sure you will really like. Stevie Nicks is one of the queens of rock-n-roll. Sarah MacLachlan - what a voice... wish she was still performing.

Fleetwood Mac was a hard-driving blues-rock band before Buckingham and Nicks turned it into what you just heard. In my opinion this song is quintessential Fleetwood Mac from this era - bland and overproduced. Try a song from Then Play On, Kiln House, or Bare Trees.
