I hate how they always show someone old or over weight. Sleep apnea can hit anyone even chiseled athletes.
That's just a representation of the population ngl. You don't get many young, healthy/fit patients in a hospital or doctors surgery 🤣
@St George Obese people often give it to themselves. If your tongue, jaw etc proportions give it to you genetically there's nothing you can do about it. Can be an athlete with perfect health, you still need a cpap. You're ignorant if you think the amount of people who have it genetically aren't a lot. It's also my opinion if you show fit healthy people in these people will feel better about themselves and use their cpap, because only using old/ obese people puts a stigma on it that "If I use this CPAP I'm officially....." and you can finish that sentence off. So no, seems you're the offended one off facts.
@@BM-gk6fb bruh I'm 10% bodyfat been working out for 10 years now playing in all kinds of sports leagues and the sleep apnea hasn't changed lol. We exist. They said my tongue is slightly too big for my mouth. It's nothing you can visibly detect but it F's me up at night when I sleep. People like me can get away with the devices that hold your jaw in place but those are short term only, they give you massive TMJ if you use it long term.
I don’t think that Leeds put as much thought into casting this video as you think. I believe it’s likely that they just got the first random patient that agreed to be on the video.
@@andrewpersaud4144 Same. I am a normal weight but I have severe sleep apnea. It results from severe bruxism (teeth grinding) that I've had since I was 6 years old. Unfortunately, my parents never had it addressed by a doctor so the habit is impossible to break now since it's only while sleeping (no day-time clenching) and basically involuntary (since I'm unconscious) and the jaw damage at this point is irreversible. I've tried everything. It's caused my jaw to be completely out of place and even the $2.5k dental device I had moulded specifically for my teeth can't correct it (though it does help prevent gum recession). But I also acknowledge that the biggest chunk of people suffering from Sleep Apnea probably have it because they are overweight, so it makes sense that their volunteers happen to be overweight (I doubt they go looking specifically for overweight people for their videos).
Getting my ResMed machine tomorrow. I wanted to see what it looked like. Thank you. And nurse is a natural in front of the camera.
Thank you for this open resource
Blessings in an abundance of the faith. I salute you. 😘🙏Grace and peace be unto you and to this place. God bless you. 🤍🌈🤍Thank you. Will you believe and receive Jesus Christ as your LORD and personal saviour??? I do. 😊
Excellent British lady explanation
Very informative, thank you
Good video ive been severe for years ,and have cpap , this young lady has done a fine job ...
What a wonderful lady.
Thanks for the ontroduction!😊
I’m a young chiseled sigma, I eat really clean, work out like I’m an avenger. A few months ago out of the blue I started to snore. Took a sleep test through the VA and now I wear a mask like I’m mad max when I go to sleep.
used one similar mask last time, crazy how much air it blows while trying to adjust it :S
It is so weird to adjust to the power of it but I found I got used to it pretty quick.
@@PalmSquadI never did in 20 years. Can’t sleep with the damn masks.
@TravisMcGee151 that would be so frustrating!!! My mother-in-law pulls her mask off every night while she's sleeping. I can just imagine how tired you must be when you need a cpap machine but it won't work for you. Do you still try to use it even though you don't like the masks?
Love CPAP machines, they are very helpful for those with Sleep Apnea to get a restful nights sleep.
Do you have sleep apnea ?
Yes you are right...dindsay
How long should it be used to totally get rid of sleep apnea?
@@topfunnyvideos2911You don’t ever get rid of it. See the mask? They are the most uncomfortable torture machines devised by man. I’ve been trying several for 20+ years and they suck. The mask has to press tightly on your face or else the air escapes out the sides. I’d rather die early than try on again.
@topfunnyvideos2911 thats not how it works. You will always have sleep apnea unless you make lifestyle changes. The cpap alleviates the symptoms. It is not a cure.
Are CPAPs in the USA basically the same?
Helpful! How do u know if u should use a mask that also covers the mouth?
They determine that at your sleep study

Got mine last week. What a great machine seem to sleep soundly now. Thank you 💤💤
Very useful video I have a CPAP Resmed auto I’m on pressure 7 been ok but lately it Makes a noise and wakes me up what can I do events per hour mean I’m always under 5 thank you
im wondering if theres an open source cpap machine. a simple air pump should be easy to make.
You talk too fast. Way too fast you are very pretty but but please slow down for old ears,,
How the heck do you sleep with that thing on your face?
That's a good question
I don't think you do. That's how it stops apnea...keeps you awake 😆
@@Amerikiwi.No joke. Everyone I’ve tried I end up ripping off my face so I can get some sleep. Hate those things.

Hello I’m waiting to be seen at st James hospital sleep clinic I’ve been diagnosed with mild sleep apnea and I’m feeling tired, I’ve hired a cpap machine what I don’t know is what setting to have the machine on at , my AHI is 11.7 so what do you suggest my setting be at? I’m told it will be 4/5 months to be seen so could be July/aug

Can we buy these without a doctor getting involved ? Nowadays if we go to the doctors with a sore arse they'll say it's convid. Thanks
I bought mine outright for $1,000. They tried to talk me into renting one through insurance but I refused that. Then they still try to monitor your sleep though the machine and act like you have to do what they say or they'll take it back, but I remind them that they can't spy on me or take anything away because I own it... those authoritarians don't like to hear that. 😂
😆 Facts.

Why is it necessary to leave it on while not wearing it wouldnt that cause a false reading???
It would have helped to show how to fit different types of masks. Masks come in different designs. The one I got issued with my machine is a different design from the one. featured in the video.
My grandma is this one sad silently
Did she get paid well? She is a star
Now on a hunt to search for 2 bedside table since both me and my mum needs cpap, only thing is her bed is next to the table and my side is near the wall do I don’t know how to work this out and her side don't have plug socket, cant seems to find any dual UK extentions (I'm from Singapore but that's the plugs here)
Is that mask doesn’t need to fit on the mouth ?
I was thinking the same thing, left a comment asking this too.
Same here I’m a mouth breathing and I’m sure I have sleep apnea
Kya cpap machine ma oxigen cylinder k8 jaroorat padti hai
What do you do when there is a red face for mask seal?
These apparatus should be free government issue to all newly weds embarking on their honeymoons.
Does the machine make noise
You can't really hear it at all and you get used to it quick. You'd hear a fan way more than the machine.
How long do u have to test yourself
LOL that thumbnail is hilarious
Included in my pack is a water filter how do you use that many thanks Caz 💜
Which mask is this?
C pap full face mask
Do you have to use straps?
Thanks for this video ❤❤❤❤❤
machine left plugged in?
Face deforming, wrinkles inducing machine. Medical device designers should have done better.
Finally you are helping us
Does this force you to breathe ?
No but it does keep your airways open so u can sleep better it’s used for people who stop breathing during sleep or who breath very shallowly and are not getting enough oxygen it’s called obstructive sleep apnea for those who stop breathing I have to have one and my father has one
Jokoy
Well that's an anti-husband device if ever I saw one.
Interesting.. thank you
well explained thanks

So you pay forever? Lol
Most insurance company will pay for it once you been diagnosed..but could take some time to get it been waiting on mine for 2 months now
.
@@patriciaroberts437 yeah, i found one used only 500 hrs and years worth of packaged accessories. Reservoirs, hoses, filters and nose pillows for 150.00. i got extremely lucky. I should be good for a few years.
Medicare pays monthly for mine. Two years of their payments and the machine belongs to me.
@@grandmajane2593 I bought mine for 150.00 and it included years worth of sealed replacement parts. I had to decide what settings work best for me by myself without a doctor. I'm still alive, didn't even hurt myself and I cut out the wasted money on insurance and unnecessary Dr appointments. 150.00 for a machine that costs over 1000.00 and is guarded by red tape that takes several thousand dollars to get passed. Lol
God bless America? Yeah, right. More God bless the ones who win at capitalism and to hell with rest of us, eh? Lol
How much does this cost
Your health insurance pays for it
By the way, you are allowed to get a new machine every year as I stated in the previous comment your health insurance pays for it.
I bought mine for $1,000.
@@DerekMoore82That’s really cheap.
@@TravisMcGee151 And it was brand new.
Will it still work if you don't register it?
Useful vedio thank you

What if it keeps turning off ?
I literally have no one else to ask thanks ‼️‼️🪬🧿💠↩️🟪🔮🎈
Shouldn’t keep turning off. Something is wrong with the machine.
They’re both good actors
