Thanks! Really disappointed to see that all of the tracking features are still missing when shooting in ProRes on the Cine. Lots of “not truth” in their ads for the Cine version.
Arrrggghhh! So when my Mavic 3 gets back from "diagnosis" for disconnects, I want to try Freewell's Wide Angle/Anamorphic kit with magnetic ND Filters! They confirmed that they were hostage to the lock-out for autonomous flight modes... but now... 😁😁😁
This update is EXTREMELY FLAWED unfortunately. The ability to vary exposure (ISO, f-stop, shutter speed) is no longer an option during hyperlapses. The work i do for my clients is extremely dependent on this ability as I capture hyperlapses during times of day where light is constantly changing (sunrise / sunset). I'm not only disappointed, I'm extremely shocked at this and need to find a way to revert back to the old firmware. If your thing is hyperlapses, DO NOT update the firmware yet until DJI fixes this.
Could I use this to film myself biking at a closer range than the one in your video, because it’s far away? I would like to make 10 seconds clips and have transitions like someone is riding next to me filming but it’s really the drone or would someone have to operate the drone?
Am I crazy or am I getting more flight time then normal? Maybe its a placebo effect from the new update but my flight times have been great out of just one battery, and I have 2!
Does the Telecam support quickshots, it looks like it but I had issues yesterday, didn't have the flight time to diagnose so flew manually and landed, be interested to know, thanks
@@squaddingquads Sorry, somehow totally misread your question. Thought you were asking about new quick shots pro modes. No, sadly none of the automated features support the tele lens, which is still a major bummer.
Tripod mode was the subject of Phillip Bloom’s petition (do a search if you hadn’t heard - it got lots of signatures). He just announced in the last few days that DJI has said they will bring it to the m3, but they didn’t give a date.
So I have the update before this that "addressed" the issues And I believe they improved it. But there seems to be a difficulty acquiring as quick as previous generation drones. But I haven't had to wait longer than the 1 minute I normally spend changing my settings and getting into position After first aqcuiring the gps its stays locked as long as the device isn't off for longer than an hour (I never did interval testing guess i could do that now), then it has to reaquire but that's normal I am also able to maintain satellites even walking through my house so clearly it's just a case of finding them. But once they are connected to 10 i normally don't drop below 10 (unless it's a bad day) (I had done a series of RTH tests 5 in a row to be specific on the first day I had the drone)
@@b29ak2007 Thanks. I just did the update and it still takes 3-5 minutes to get the sats required to update home point. When I first got this mavic 3 it took less than 30 seconds…. Guess I’ll keep hoping lol

This update is faster, but still not as fast as the factory firmware, or any of my other mavics in the past. I would say im about 1 min to set home point.
Thank you for the great video. I have a stupid question. If I were to capture prores with the cine, edit on the timeline and export my edit from final cut as H265, would I lose the whole benefit of having prores in the first place? Does the extra quality in prores remain even though the final project is in H265? Meaning the whole benefit of prores is the extra editing power but not the quality in the end? Thanks again. I thought this question on another video and I thought it was a great question but it was never answered. I realize you said normal color looks great, and I agree. I also know it’s 10-bit even in normal color when working with Prores. Thanks again man, great stuff.
As soon as you compress (during the export) PRORES to H.265 it loses benefits of PRORES. H.265 can not contain PRORES quality. You have to understand that both are codecs used for video compression, for different kind of use. PRORES benefit is amount of grading power (containig a lot of information) with a downside of huge file sizes. H.265 is much more compressed-smaller file sizes, but less information for grading. Hope this helps. P.S. benefit of PRORES remains in your H.265 video in terms of that: you have so much more room to edit/grade your footage in PRORES opposed if you shot only in H.265.
Giovani you absolutely retain the benefits of prores after you convert to H265 in post. The capture is what matters. I have the cine, and have tested extensively for my own benefit. The high dynamic range is there for both models, but as Nikola said, the editing is much easier and more powerful in prores. After the edit, you still have the better highlights and shadows of the prores footage after you export in H265. 👍
@@pamalot9428 Exactly. @Giovani do not bother the export is h.265 - it is the standard for any kind of commercial video. PRORES is the way to go for editing/grading power. And if the client asks for any kind of export other than h.265 you are able to provide.
@@mrakaaa You can certainly export the FINAL project in H265 and still have reaped the benefits of prores. Better dynamic range and much better in low light. You don’t lose the benefit if you export in h265 after editing. RUclips may destroy the footage, but H265 from fcp will not.
Having a drone with a good camera is like having a virtual tripod for any shot at any angle you want to take a photo. I would buy it and take thousands of great shots, video or not.
