we are grateful sir for including LES Solar and our team in your vlog . especially your review, comments and recommendation we really appreciate it. it's an amazing vlog sir. God Bless you and your family Sir😊
Your team deserves every bit of praise! Such a professional group of guys and one of the most ethical companies I have had the pleasure of working with during my time in the Philippines. The Thanks goes to each of you!
Hello my friend I’ve been busy working still watching your videos just haven’t come in in a while been busy at work good news my daughter in the Philippines with my wife when I was there we took her to the consulate and got the paperwork started to make her an American citizen and get her US passport and birth abroad paperwork and last week it came to my wife’s house so my daughter is a US citizen now and a Filipina citizen so that makes a good for all of us Bessie for my daughter so she can decide if she wants to work and live in America sometimes or will stay with her mom in the Philippines but she will have that choice growing up and I think that will be a wonderful thing for her I know my wife is very happy I love the system I am really impressed with the price I thought we were gonna be talking 10,000 American dollars or more I am really impressed with the price it is something I am very much one in my house when we finally build it there in the Philippines my wife right now pays 5000 pesos a month for electric and we just have one split air in the bedroom and it does run a lot but it’s still a lot more money than America I think so I will definitely want to do that so thank you for the video and thank you always a house in the swimming pool looks awesome I am so happy for you guys take care talk to you guys soon love the videos always keep them coming this is Scott from Chicago
Hey Scott, good to see you again brother! Super happy for your daughter and yes, that is an excellent scenario for her. Always good to have options! Glad you enjoyed the Solar Vlog, and I think it's a good decision for anyone. Just take your time and find the team that ticks all your boxes before you choose. I'm feeling good about this install and based on what I experienced with them, they are a breath of fresh air! (and Sunshine 🤣)
Thanks little brother! But honestly, I learned so much about electricity from you, it actually helped in finding a quality group to install. Get your Butt up here and take a look at it while you are drinking some of Jenn's incredible brewed Sagada Arabica, with a pool float afterward. 😁
Hi Rick, thanks for all the info , I will recommend that Gregg and Wilma of Building the Philippines view this vlogg, they are building in Dauin, Negros , Dumaguete and are considering Solar. Your setup is excellent . If 346,000 Pesos includes everything , 12 Solar Panels, inverter, and Batteries and installation, that i believe is very reasonable, maybe another set or two of batteries ( LFP Type)you can kiss the grid goodbye! I dont like being tied to the grid , here in Ontario Canada or there in the Philippines- they kill you with DELIVERY CHARGES.
You are right and yes, it was all included in the price. I am going to do an update vlog soon, now that we have had solar for a few months. I have learned some things with this system that I had not experienced in the Dominican and I believe I can speak even more intelligently after having worked with it for a while. It's a great system and although I am glad we are still connected to the grid when the need arises, you are absolutely correct, more battery is a key component.
Great idea Chris! If I can remember to do it, I will be happy to put something together in a month or so. If I forget, feel free to send a gentle reminder 🤣
Well for sure the cost of install and payback will not take long. It’s a no brainer in the Philippines, was there not a projection based on your energy requirements and timescales etc. European companies do this practice, it’s like 20-25 years …which is ridiculous.
@@ericbown1551 No sir, but with my own calculations, I am guessing it will be a 3 to 4 year process of recouping what we have spent on this system. My Dominican system was a 5 year recoup, so I believe we have made a good choice. Just not having to endure the almost daily brownouts here ,makes it worth it to me, even if I didn't see a dime in return 😂
You stated the inventer draws from the grid. What happens when the grid is down ? How does the inventer work for the system ? I know I'm late to the project but I want to check out everyone with solar and I'm having it installed on my home... The EcoFlow has backup batteries and generators which I will buy also...
Rick and Jenn you have built a 1st class home..congratulations! Rick, that solar system looks great and I'm really impressed with the company. I had to double take that all this was done at that level for just P346,000! Once again your vlog has given me great insight on ideas when Bea and I build our home. I want to say, thank y'all for sharing your homebuilding experience. Also, does this company install nationwide? I'd love to consider them should I get to the point of installing a solar system like yours.
Stephen, thank you sir for the kind words and I am glad it has been helpful for y'all. Nationwide I am not sure about. I will reach out to them and ask that question. One thing that I encourage you to consider, is the installer's proximity to your build. That's one of many reasons I picked LES. They are literally 30 to 45 minutes from our home and I know if I ever do have an issue, they could be here in a heart beat. Although I am not expecting any issues with this system based on my prior history with solar, it's always nice to know you have someone that is knowledgeable with your system, if you should ever need help with it. I will let you know what I find out.
I am sitting here in California, picking my jaw up off the floor. You got THAT, for 7 grand?!?!?!!?!?! I was quoted 72k for a solar system here, that by local ordnance can not exceed 54% of my last years average monthly electrical use, in terms of power it would provide. Just another reason I am about 90% sold on liquidating, and ex-patriating to the Philippines, in late 2023, or early 2024.
@@grumpyolddude439 They restrict how much power your solar system can produce?! I have to assume this only applies to grid-tied system using net metering? I wouldn't imagine the limitation would apply for a system where you aren't sending/selling excess power back to the grid?

Great video guys, when we are set we intend to used same system, had only 3kva setup in Australia, power bill over 12 months equated to zero as sold excess back to power company...refunded as well $1845 on top of free power 😂😂
I agree with the previous subscriber about comparing the previous power bill with the current bill using the Solar panels. Additionally do you have the option of selling unused energy back to the Utility company?
Yes Charles, I will do it. Help me to remember in about a month or so. We just got our Tarelco bill, but it was during a month that we were not in the home yet and only the workers were staying here. It was almost 7,000php, that's about $135 US. I won't have an apples to apples bill to compare with, as we installed before I had a month of our usage. I do however know about what we averaged monthly in our two bedroom home in Balanga City. That's the best I will be able to do, but I'm honestly expecting a minimal bill. If you are referring to Net Metering, I haven't even checked into it as our meter is a good 150 meters down the road, and I am thinking Tarelco wouldn't be interested in running the additional wire if I couldn't even get them to install a transformer for the 8 customers wired into that pole. But, you have me curious. I will do some checking. We are certainly on the plus side of production on a sunny day. So, let me see what I can find out.
Hi excellent video. Did l.e.s. mention any warranty options for any panel damage caused by possible typhoon exposure? Or any additional cost for on going maintenance? Monthly? Thanks
Hey Anthony, thanks for watching! Super glad you asked that and I totally meant to mention their warranty, just gets jumbled up in my brain sometimes. The panels have a 10 Year Product Warranty, but I wouldn't expect that damage from a Typhoon would qualify. Surprisingly however, my experience with my panels in the Dominican, hold up extremely well. My home in the D.R. was hit a few summers back by back to back to back category 5 Hurricanes and they sit on the top of the third floor of the home, on top of a mountain. I had zero damage to my panels, railing system or cables. No issues at all. The panels I have here are even more low profile than those in the D.R., so short of total roof failure here, the panels should make it through with no issues. My Hybrid On-Grid Inverter comes with a 5 year warranty. The Lithium Battery and Install both come with a 1 year warranty.
Oh wow thats great. We d def go hybrid on grid as well with our property san vincente ilocos. I have about 3 years left early retirement banking money living like poor man son. I was 82c stationed at ft sill ok and enlisted 4 yrs before working nycdot since 05. How has adjustment to ph been for you personally? My daughter is 13 , after discussing my plans she says she is ok with however a parent knows when there child is indifferent. Guess i just have to pray.
Excellent information there. When I get to the Philippines I'll be looking at doing something similar to yours. I appreciate the level of professionalism they showed with their installation. They clearly take pride in their business. Quick question for you...Let's say you want to start including the pool pump, or you decide you want to go 100% off grid? Will you need to add a few more panels, or perhaps a bigger battery? Can that be done without having to go back to square 1? Thank again for another great video...Salamat
Hey Karl, thanks for watching! Actually, everything in my home is working on our 12 panels during the day. The only appliances in my home that are excluded would be the tankless water heaters and even then, they work as long as there is power coming from the panels or the batteries. If for some reason, it's night, not panel power and our street power goes into brownout, leaving only battery power, then the water heaters will not come on. You have total control over what you want to not come on when you are only pulling from your battery during a brownout. I probably didn't explain that well on the video. Sorry about that!
Well, in fact it is and if I could have picked it up and brought it here, I would have 🤣. My path has changed over the last 7 years, so the D.R. isn't in my future. Whoever ends up buying it will have made a good choice. Thanks for watching John!
It’s coming Austin! Jenns mom got hit by a Jeepney in Cavite and was hospitalized for a week. It put us behind on the vlogs. I would think the blinds, internet and fence will be combined and I’m guessing she will have it up within the week. Loving our blinds though!
Hello Rick and Jenn! Wonderful job on your home construction and solar setup. Rick, I have a home in Luzon, and was curious about how your system is performing. What does your bill look like generally. Has it been worth getting solar? Thanks 😊
Thanks for watching! System is performing very well. We have had no issues thus far and yes, I believe it was worth it, for nothing else than we never experience brown outs anymore. Our electric bill is always less than 1500 pesos, or no more than $30. If I had double my battery capacity, we wouldn't most likely even have a monthly electric bill. I will add a battery in the future when funds allow!

Looks like you have a great little system there, and the install went really good, it's always nice to find a company that does things right. Quick question, you said the inverter runs off the grid, what happens during a brown out and the grid is down?
Your absolutely correct Dylan, refreshing to find a company that does it right. Good question. My understanding is if the grid goes Brown, then it pulls it's 25watts from the panel during daylight, or the batteries at night.
Hey Rick and Jenn I hope that you’re well. I just wanted pick your brain on what you think about the a stand alone generator that runs on propane. Like Kohler or generac . Thanks Derrick
Hey Derrick! I actually looked into installing one as a third level of backup to Tarelco, but have not really found a need in our situation. But, if you were going to install a generator, the propane version would be my choice for the plain fact that it is easier to get, transport and store.
Hello Rick I did not see ant power going back to the grid. Do you have a net metering system. It looks like you are making a lot more power then you are using most of the day. And is their room for more panels if you need them later without changing your inverter.
Hey Mike. You are correct. As of now we do not have the Net Metering set up, but our installer is starting the process of getting us set up. When I say process, I mean crazy process! We will get there though, as you pointed out, we have the capacity to generate a lot more power than we are using. Yes, my roof has room for three times as many panels as we actually have. Room to grow if you will 😄
Wow😳 solar system! The bill of electricity in ph is way up! So, investing in solar is awesome! Its like your house build is only 3/4 ROI (return of investment) awezzzomme!!! 🤙😎 imagine payin monthly electric bill, and have brownouts. Must go Solar!🤙😎
Thanks for the kind words! Yes, I agree. Doesn't feel good paying high electric rates when you experience brownouts consistently and my voltage is occasionally not even enough to adequately run our appliances. Solar seems to be the answer to all of those issues.
Have you thought about ordering a power wall or a home battery system because 200AH isn’t enough to power a camper very long. I have 1300 of solar and 1,000 AH of solid state lithium batteries on my camper.
I actually wanted two 200ah lithium batteries, just couldn't afford it at the time. We almost make it through the night on the one, but two would be ideal for our usage. Thanks for watching brother!
Thanks for explaining on the grid. Im thinking of installing Solar and I know we will save money especially as our electric costs now per KW/h are up 35% from last year. I just wonder how much we could save yearly? We a have months of continual rain and little to no sun.
Hey Jon! For us it made sense. We don't have months of rain here in Central Luzon. Our rain in the rainy season primarily comes late evening an through the night so little to no affect on our panels. If you truly have months of continuous rain, you might want to take a good hard look at if it would be of any benefit. In my mind, if your sunny days outnumber your cloudy days throughout the year, you will most likely see substantial savings. A total wash, probably not so much.
Rick - I'm a new subscriber to your channel. Hopefully to be breaking ground near Tarlac City in the next few months. Is your solar system upgradeable if you wanted to add capacity in the future?
Hey John, welcome aboard! Congrats on the future home build. Yes sir, it is upgradeable, and in fact, I am looking at adding an additional 200ah Lithium Battery to pair with the one we have. Should give us what we need to get fully through the night, sun down to sun up. Most nights we do, but if it was cloudy and rainy before sun down, then we occasionally have to pull from the grid the last hour or two before sun up.
Nice vlog! I think I missed the size of your solar. How many KV or watts for this P346,000? (12 panels). I can’t find the other descriptions. Planning to install Solar when I start building my house in Lipa, Batangas this coming February, 2023 with 3,000 sqft 3 bedroom/2.5 baths. Appreciate much for more info. Glenda
Hey Glenda, thanks for watching! No worries. We have twelve 540w panels, a 5.4kva hybrid on grid invertor and a 200ah Lithium Ion battery. we also have a 3 bedroom 2.5 bath home with pool. My square footage is less, but we only have aircon in two of the three bedrooms.
Hello sir,I would like a solar put in at our house in Leyte,I watch your vlog when you were doing a review and recommendation of the LES Solar, where is the company based?Thank you!
Hi Joy! LES Solar is in Pangasinan Central Luzon. I would recommend you look at installers in the Leyte area. It is important that they be close enough to you to be able to address any possible issue that might pop up in the future.
Hey Michael! Thanks for watching. We have one 200ah Blue Lithium Ion battery. But, after using for 3 months now during the rainy season, I am wishing we had two of them. There have been a few times that the battery didn't last until sun up production and we pulled from the grid. Not a horrible scenario by any means, it just would have prevented us from ever having to tap the grid. So, will be adding another when funds allow!
@@rickeybaker9066 sounds good. I will also be using a 200ah 48v battery. Just hoping it will run 1 ac, fridge and a fan. Fridge and AC are inverter types and I usually run the Ac in dry mode at night to save electricity. Thanks for the reply!!
Michael, we are running a 1hp Daiken Inverter type a/c, three DC type ceiling fans, a full size Samsung inverter type fridge and a CCTV system and a 1hp water pump that clicks on occasionally to maintain water pressure. This time of year, battery starts feeding around 5:30pm and gets us till about 5am. Panels start producing sufficient amounts at about 6:30am, so we are on grid for about one and a half hours. Sounds like with what you will run, you should be fine with one 200ah battery.
@@rickeybaker9066 yes that should definitely get me through the night only running the 1hp inverter ac, fridge and fan. Maybe one 10w light. Thanks so much. I will have my install probably in a couple weeks. 4.5kw in panels with a 5 kw Deye hybrid inverter.
Hey Anthony! The DEYE invertor is a Battery Management System. It totally controls hwere ti draw our feed from and how quickly to recharge. Not. 100% sure what you are advising me to do amps though? I did have LES adjust the discharge limit from 30% to 20%, before reaching out tonthe grid. It seems to be adequate to get us to Sunrise now.
Hello again Mr. Baker. Scott here in Montana (soon Samal) and I wanted to share what Greg and Wilma in Dauin found out about the Deye inverters. They were told, as well as shown, numerous Deye inverters that had failed right around the 16 month period. I guess this has been somewhat of a problem with the inner workings of the units. My question is, do you have any kind of a guarantee on the inverter you purchased that would surpass that 16 - 18 month time frame?
Hey Scott, good to hear from you brother! I researched the inverter as well, and like most things, you find good and bad reviews. Most of what I read on the DEYE 5.4kw Inverter was positive. Ours comes with a 5 year product warranty and as of now, all is working very well. It is an incredibly smart inverter and it amazes me how it learns our usage habits and makes adjustments accordingly. Big Brother type stuff 🙂. I have nothing negative to say in regards to it's performance. Also felt the 5 year warranty was sufficient. Fingers crossed that she stays solid!
@@rickeybaker9066 Well that is good to hear! I would hate for OUR house to have an electrical catastrophe. Say, on the ATS, there is an N and an R. I think one is for street power and the other is solar power... What in the world does N and R stand for?

That house in the DR must be something special, you sure do mention it often...
Well, in fact it is and if I could have picked it up and brought it here, I would have 🤣. My path has changed over the last 7 years, so the D.R. isn't in my future. Whoever ends up buying it will have made a good choice. Thanks for watching John!
we are looking forward for the team blinds to show on your future vlogs sir☺️
It’s coming Austin! Jenns mom got hit by a Jeepney in Cavite and was hospitalized for a week. It put us behind on the vlogs. I would think the blinds, internet and fence will be combined and I’m guessing she will have it up within the week. Loving our blinds though!
Thank You for sharing this my bro 🙏🙌🕊️ Some I always wanted to know how it work and the cost.... Very Informative Video 🙌
Glad to hear, hope it was helpful! Thanks for watching brother!
10k views and just a little over 100 comments, that's because your video leaves the viewer speechless. We're here worried about Biden and his madness while your right there building a new-fresh life from scratch. God be with you man! Thanks Theo! Either I left them speechless or dumb founded . In the end, just hope it helps someone!
Wowww,🥰🥰🥰🥰
Thanks Mayumi! Appreciate you watching. Glad you liked it.
@@rickbaker0217 Thanks Rick for information. God bless you and Jenn.
Sorry po tita i didn't come first beacuse I'm watching a sad movie on Netflix it's so sad I'm in tears 😆😊
My Angel Julia! It's ok sugar, it's the thought that counts 😍. Miss you sugar! This is Tito Rick
Nice video vl
Thanks Glenda!
Room to grow if you will 😄
Nice set up brother. Regards Erik Baker
Thanks Erik! Good to hear from you brother from another mother! Hope you are well.
@@rickeybaker9066 yes sir doing well. Retired last Wednesday and starting the 24 month count down:)
@@k9companion231 congrats 🎉 on the retirement! Hope you love retired life as much as I do!
Hello, is your solar syatem from Les Solar Pangasinan?
Do you recommend them until now?
Thanks
Yes sir it is and yes sir I do!
Nice 👍. Looking at a system for our place also could you give us some info on your installer. Thank
Thanks🙂 LES Solar’s info can be found at the end of this video.. hope this help🙏
@@rickeybaker9066 thanks man. Yeah sunny days do out number dull rainy days. We are near the coast.
@@rickeybaker9066 thank you very much for the information. In the future you don’t mind if I reach out to you for more advice.
Not at all. Do what I can to help!
Nice house!
Thank you so much!
Hi Rick! Very informative vlog! Though I think i missed it, how many kW is your set up? Thank you !
Hi Chat, no worries. Our invertor is 5.4kvw system with twelve 540w panels and a 200ah lithium ion battery.
Great video!! What size batteries are you using?
@@michaelm.9947 Sounds good Michael! Your going to love having it. I know I do.
if i were you, i would change asap the bms in that battery to a much higher rating daly 300A discharge ang 150A charge and if possible a smart bms
Our good friends here in Spokane bought a place on Samal and they are just finishing their renovation project! Can’t wait to visit, especially when we’re visiting from near Osamiz
@@rickeybaker9066 I saw in your comment that you will soon be going to Samal, DAVAO. We are based in Del Monte area Samal. Currently we are still in USA but we are going back this July. If you don't mind me asking, where in Samal are you planning to live? Hopefully we can connect. Good luck!

Can you post here the point-of-contact for the solar company?
Their contact info is actually in the Vlog, I believe at the end. I know it flashes up pretty quickly though. You can find them on Facebook under LES Solar in Pangasinan.
Hi, do you have contact for this guys who installed your solar system
Yes, their email is lessolar13@gmail.com
If had another battery it would really help. I know they are expensive
I agree Randy, and I will add one, as soon as the bank account allows!
Does Les Solar work in La Union ??
Hey Paul, I would think that would be in the scope of their area, but best way to find out is to just reach out to them. Thanks for watching!
Hello ...Just great I am in the process of preparations in February to start to construct here in Iloilo Panay. Have some questions (s). How many watts is one panel (45 -500 Watts?) What is the label REC, or something else? Thx have a nice 2023
Congrats Marc on your build in IloIlo! Our panels are 540 watts each. I am not sure what you are asking about "Label REC". If you can clarify, I will try to answer your questions sir.
Thats a good price for what you got
I thought so to Fred. It just seemed fair to me.
Can you post the solar company contacts, thank you?
