This movie was definitely ahead of its time. I remember we were in teens and all my friends including me hated the akshay khanna’s role ( in love with lady 15 yrs older). But now in 2019 have better understanding of love. Love just happens.

A few years ago when i listened to this song i had a spark in my head, since then i dropped my engineering pursued BA in painting, returned home, proposed my senior crush Riya, married her and today we are three and will be celebrating our 4th anniversary next week. I am returning back from my school with my dad, I was just upper Kg back then..excited to have lunch with my neighbours rather than having lunch at my place. Dad never able to stop me from going there till we left that beautiful place with loads of memories..chanting this song with them was magical. Couldn't able to understand the lyrics back then. Now, I am 26 years old, failed in love several times, sitting alone at the corner of my room, playing this song on loop, wishing someone who can actually be mature enough to love me just like sid in this film.❤️

My friend had this first assembled computer at his house, and a speaker. It was a nascent time for multimedia on a PC. It was summer vacation and we were busy doing our project in class 8. Dil Chahta Hai was a recent release at that time, and we played this song on loop. It was quite an experience playing these songs and we enjoyed doing our project. Sadly last year my friend who was my best friend and my project mate died in an accident. It was his favorite song. This song is close to life for me.

Well, the lyricist, director, actor painter sure did a loving attempt at trying to explain, mixing the metaphysical with what I call the interdimensional, and I don't know how many of you've felt unrequited love, but this song saved my life many times, over and over, so yeah a big thank you! I think that hint in the painting, huggable teddy surviving a plane crash is inspiration to so many of us survivors! Peurile? You bet, and some love stories do last lifetimes!
