Hey Mark, if people are not sure what to use, always check the car manufacturers coolant spec's and then go shopping around to get a OE approved coolant pre mix, and flush that way if your doing it yourself you can save a lot of $$, if a dealer is going to do it, talk to them and say i would like to supply the flush products and OE approved coolant and ask as well to remove the cost of the flush and coolant pricing from the service costs ? which i do with my holden Dealer for my VF SSV Redline. :)
Coolant cornerrrrr!
If you are going to try to educate people you should probably give the correct information. Type A coolant concentrates which contain glycol need to be mixed at 33-50% however type B coolants which are indeed inhibitor only coolants should only be mixed as a concentrate at a maximum of 10% but generally anywhere from 5-10% depending on then inhibitor type and application.
How to use 30% pre mixed green mitsubishi coolant???!
Very educational indeed. How would you rate below coolant for an SUV in a warm climate Fabulous vid n educational . How would you rate below coolant:for an SUV in a warm climate
Boiling point: 110 C
Freezing point: -38 C
Monoethylene Glycol. 50% min
Specific gravity: 1.06 - 1.09
pH. 8-9
Reserve Alkalinity RA. 4-6
Variou inhibitors. 12,000 -14,000 ppm
pH value @25 C. 10.4
Its really not that complex. Coolant concentrate + water and you're done. Most people could give a shit about the minerals and use a garden hose, but if you're feeling special then buy distilled or deionized water and mix away.
raw tap water can damage engine and radiator parts. ok in an emergency but not what you want running in your car for years at a time. different coolant types have different additives for protecting the materials in the coolant system. really not that simple
This was not very informative.
