Same reaction I got when i found out it's not BL. I saw a ton of BL fanworks of the two male MCs in tumblr and thought they're like, canon or something but I looked it up and it's not. There's apparently a lot of shipping moments or stuff that could be seen as shippy so it might not be so bad if someone went in to read wanting to see BL. I wonder though if they have some canon female love interests.

From the webnovel which is the version (its the one thats translated online which people has read) to the ebook edit that is considered the new official canon. I gotta say though the author backtracking on a lot of things between the 2 mls removing all the lines that people thought were very gay and changing lines like hand holding to wrist holding etc etc. In combination with them adding lines and scenes implying things with the female ml will always leave a sour taste in my mouth. Removing or adding is one thing, but doing both at the same time? The authors knew what they were doing they wanted to do some good fun queerbaiting they even have a canon fujoshi character they didnt not know. But when people thought they were canon (and thats a huge reason that orv became popular in the first place) but now they are pushing a safe straight ship because its more digestable to people. It really comes across to me as they dont mind people wishing for a canon romance but they would prefer it as a straight couple not gay. As an lgbt+ person it always felt like they got their benetits from the queerbaiting with people reading it specifically because of how canon the 2 mls felt. but i cant not interpret it as the authors thinking "how dare people think they are canon thats a gay ship lets remove that and also push a safer straight ship" instead.
The webcomic follows the ebook for those who dont know its why the lines hyung likes men wasnt there as long as in the formation of the constellation banquet they were outright hand holding.
After all the edits i still think overall the 2 mls are shippable and feel canon to me unless they fully rewrite their relationship they will never not feel extremely gay for each other so im still happy believing they are canon in all but explicit words. but im not going to lie and say there isnt a difference and that there very much is a bigger incentive than the og webnovel to ship the guy with the girl too. But again that leaves a sour taste in my mouth. Anyways orv will always be bl in my heart even after the edits it still has nothing on them.

It is considered BL as Kdj had flirted with Yoo joonghyuk multiple times in the novel and the manwha, Kdj is two modifier constellation from what ik who gave Yoo joonghyuk the regression ability as he was Kim dojka's incarnation who had been helping Yoo joonghyuk since the 0th turn and the Story is basically in a loop, Lastly they are inseparable and was shipped multiple times in canon and still stayed the same in fanon, If Yoo joonghyuk is the MC of the OG novel which the first constellation modifier of Kdj, Oldest dream had read then he is considered the ML as Kim dojka is now the MC of ORV
Last but not least is that the both of them especially Yoo joonghyuk had shown more than bromance throughout their companionship and even if Kim dojka became the demon king of salvation, Yoo joonghyuk ecen went as far as being SP who is secretive plotter just for Kim dojka, The line "Tell me you fool, Will i ever get to see you again if i continue to regress" is a living proof that yes it is not only about the apocalypse but the tragic story of their love which was never stated specifically that's why there's fanarts, Videos and Au's made by the ORV fans. In the ending also I was told that Yoo joonghyuk was still looking for kdj until the end😢

I'd have to second this. It's just that Yoo Joonghyuk is really clearly depicted as a father figure/friend/mentor to Kim Dokja in the novel, his idol and inspiration. I know with that set-up it COULD develop a few different ways, but rather than cramming yet another drama-filled non-sensical toxic relationship down my throat, ORV explores the complex beauty and heartbreak of a love that lasted for thousands of years.
Also, maybe it's just me, but the idea of it being BL starts getting really criminal when (going to use abbreviations and codes to avoid spoilers) kkomas, SP child-ifies, or OD's age, or Kim Dokja kid-ifying. And you know, the fact that YJH is possibly over 100,000 years old, depending on the regression turn...

You know with how many people got baited into ORV thinking it's BL.. Am I the only one who never knew anything about it being a ship until after 5 months of me reading the webtoon???
Hint: the webtoon isnt the webnovel the webtoon has still barely gotten any where story and character wise. Also the webtoon follows a revised edit of the webnovel and thus scenes are changed and removed from the original webnovel. And most of the removed scenes are scenes and dialogues and thoughts etc etc between the two mls. The authors intentionally edited out a lot of the lines that made people percieve orv as a bl. But a lot of scenes between them are also kept because their dynamic cant be fully edited without changing the whole plot of the novel. I didnt even ship them until i got a little beyond 1/5 through the story. Orv is divided into 5 major parts. the webtoon isnt even finished part 1 yet out of 5.
ORV is a BL in disguise. Quite literally there is a prophacy where the main character(white coat) will be killed by THE ONE HE LOVES MOST. And guess what it's not the girl the story is trying to set him up with but the black coat guy!!! One character in the actual story thinks that they're together and it is, as far as I know, never cleared up. There are also lines about how the 2 guys are wearing matching couple outfits, and when the mc feeds the other guy medicine someone says that he's acting like a concerned wife! Black coat gets jealous when he sees the mc almost kiss this one girl. He literally fights a more powerful version of himself that kidnapped the mc just to get him back. Trust me that it's just the story itself is confused about who's really in love.
