“Raoul is my reason for being here, but not in the way you think. Once I, once all of us believed in spending our lives in the service of something greater than ourselves. Aramis had his faith, Porthos his lust for life, D'Artagnan his devotion and I had Raoul. But we all had a common dream; that one day, we would finally be able to serve a king worthy of the throne. It is what we dreamt, what we bled for and what we have spent a lifetime waiting to see. I taught Raoul to believe in this dream... and now my son is dead. So I am here to find out if his life was in vain, and the only one who can answer that question is you.”
    Touching and meaningful reason…

Athos If we fail in this attempt -
    and we probably will -
I am honoured to die beside you.
    And you.

This line is one of my favourites. How rare it is to build up a bond with others like these 3. I love his voice as well

🙂 5:23 - 6:06 is my favorite part of the movie. It may not be spectacular or action-packed, but just watching Athos, Aramis, and Porthos teach Philippe how to be king while forming a strong friendship with each of them, is pretty touching. Especially with Athos, showing him what he probably taught Raoul (how to dance and fight). No wonder Philippe trusted them wholeheartedly.

very true. no doubts that he formed a very strong friendship with all of them. but i think Phillipe's bond with Athos was a unique one. not only a close friend, but also a father figure. and no doubts that Athos saw alot of his son in Phillipe.

2:24/ 6:58 I wonder if Louis fell in love with that sheep girl and married her after Philip replaced him and sent him out to live in the country side?
And I also wonder if Philip married one of the girls 👧 Louis surrounded himself with after Philip replaced him?
And it Would Have been cooler if The narrator said at the end that Philip or should I say king Louis married for love had children grandchildren parceled his Kingdom out to all his grandchildren and is remembered as the greatest ruler in history of his nation instead.

what are you? some kind of PETA activist or something? people sit on and ride horses all the time, yet they form very special and heartwarming connections with one another. so i dont know what kind of dream-world you're living in, but the last time i checked...violence against horses ends up with lethal injuries to the horse. that is...unless the woke generation has re-written the definition like they're trying to do with everything else.

@@jamesdick2580 every form of horse riding is abuse of horses and bullying of horses.Someday killing horses and riding horses and sitting on horses will be forbidden in the whole world.I believe in it.

    • @jamesdick2580

@@user-jt4ip5qm6f and yet despite this so-called "abuse", horses keep a close bond with humans who ride them and treat them with love and kindness. only time a horse panics and lashes out is if there's legitimate abuse, or if a person accidently wanders into the horses' blind spot and the horse panics. oh, and not to discredit what you're saying, but you might wanna think about the fact that old-time Native American tribes rode horses as well. yet they had a very strong, very deep connection and very strong bonds with one another. even in modern times, those who have horses have a similar mentality. now, i could understand your calling it abuse if the person is using a whip or some blunt object to strike the horse and inflict pain to coerce the horse to do what the person wants. THAT is abuse. so spare me the animal-activist BS, would ya?
