    Quick note on ERC Freezing: once you've combined your moprhs as shown here, you have to adjust the skeleton to the figure - otherwise poses may look crooked. I've explained how to do this here: ruclips.net/video/JBtl2b8B7TM/видео.html

    Cool beans! I really need to get DAZ reinstalled on that other machine.. the one it took a giant dump on last month, with the postgreSQL errors. Long story short, somehow DAZ had installed itself on more than one drive, and there were about 10 - 12 instances of the DIM.. So weird... No wonder it was all confused. Anyway, I went in and manually took out everything DAZ on all drives. All my content (My DAZ3D Library) is safe on a backup drive. Seeing this, I'll install Hex as well. I've played with Hex in the past, but got tired of it's tendency to crash if you looked at it wrong! 😆

      Good luck, Rod! Hexagon is so small, you might as well keep it around, even if it’s only for combining morphs or the odd poke-through adjustment when necessary.

    Excellent instruction, as usual. Is there a way to organize the morph sliders in the parameters tab (ie. to consolidate all the face morphs together)?

    • @WPguru
      @WPguru  4 года назад

      Yes that should be possible. You have to edit every slider individually and change the path/location as I've shown here, then save the whole lot when you're done.

    I've also heard of people having problems with the renaming of a slider after they've imported into Daz. The way I got around any problems of the slider giving me errors after I've changed the name is I went into the edit mode of my slider list and then I selected the preferences cog and change the name. When I did it this way my sliders all worked normal and I was able to save the slider without any problems. I might be entry level but I've learned some things! Any advice would be helpful though please and thank you and everybody have a wonderful New year!

    Hi. I made a figure using Daz' Face Transfer and i want that figures' head to be a preset morph for head and face. What to do?

      I've never tried Face Transfer, sadly I can't help you with that.

    Thank you for your videos, they really help me a lot, I have a question, I just did some animations and a character based on GF8, the client approved it and asked me to have a backup that I should give them, how do you advise me to do it?

    I have a wonderful character that I created in Daz3d studio (I created him while learning how to use Daz 3D studio)! He is a Genesis 1 character. But I would like to transfer him to Genesis 8 male but do not know how. Is this possible? if so, can you do a video tutorial teaching us how to achieve this?

      Hi Romero, I'm afraid there's no easy way to accomplish this. Aside from the incompatible materials, you'd have to literally create a custom morph on the G8 Male Base using your morphed G1 character and chisel away in ZBrush or Blender. Sadly I'm no good at doing that, but if you search for tutorials showing the process of sculpting a custom character, it may point you in the right direction.

    Hexagons temperamental hell, it's transferred one slider for me. I don't know what it is but I've downloaded something now it's causing Daz to shut my computer down again when I render and hexagon crashes. I know it's not overheating and I was rendering fine a month ago so was there an update out December or anything that's giving us a problem. PS that's December 2020 I'm talking about. I've been trying to finish this dang game character so I can export it to unity. Also I just started playing around with unreal engine so if there's any designers out there that are way above my skill level could you recommend which one you would think is a better game builder. I'm not looking for easy I'm looking for the best result!

    A stupid question, hexagon is free like Daz?

    • @WPguru
      @WPguru  4 года назад

      Yes, Hexagon is also free.

    Hey there. Why would I import into Hexagon? Is there a benefit? Cuz you can export as Obj, zero your character, and reimport the same Obj. No need for intermediate program.j

      Hi! It's personal preference really, some users get confused with all the settings in the export dialogue. The Hexagon route means there's a simpler workflow. I've actually recorded both versions to explain this, the one without Hexagon is here: ruclips.net/video/mZ1TOAqIzeU/видео.html

      Hi Harry, sadly (or thankfully?) I'm not familiar with that error message. In what context does it come up? Sounds as if some files with the same name are loaded from more than one folder.

    Why use Hexagon when we can do it without Hexagon?

    Also just so you know the reason dad's opens up a new instance of hexagon is because they're linked at that moment. It can't link with the open application it has to open the directory itself and access a new application so that the transfer can be done. I've tried to circumvent but other than exporting as object or fbx and then re-importing into hexagon can you circumvent that but you lose a lot of your assets. At least this is what I've noticed so if someone can break it down a little better that'd be amazing. I've been designing for about 2 years now and only have managed to create a few different things. Some of this is my fault because when daz first came out some of the products were available through a third party but I did not realize they were paid products so I had to completely wipe my directory and start fresh. I do not want to get a letter for digital theft!
