@@EDMTipsno offense but how did the definition of deep house end up being lumped into Ibiza house music? I can’t stand it. Almost 10 years ago you could find actual deep house mixes that were at the right BPM, zero vocals, no harsh or sharp sounds besides maybe a high hat or snare. Now it’s all tech euro trash or sexy Ibiza sax music with some chick crooning like she’s Crystal Waters or something. 🤦🏾♂️

Raves started in europe germany, Holland somewhere about 1980 where they had techno/trance way before anyone else, then came to UK in Rooms, the clubs was peoples rooms, it went to industrial units when it was illegal, this is where industrial beats come from, acid house was the room/house ... fields came before industrial units, then it all went legal in clubs .. where the club sounds evolved into house 89'

Yeah pretty much my thoughts too. It was pitched so low it was distracting from the rest of it. Maybe go for some layering of it with slight variations to the pitch? To make it sound like a chorus of singers instead? Give it some echo to make it sound like they're singing in a great hall of some kind.

Correct, the interval is a 3rd,.
"The 5th interval above" sounds funny and wrong, lol!
Perhaps he meant:
"I'm adding a harmony above the 5th (note /of the scale). "?
After hearing the riff & sub bass he added later, I'm guessing he inverted the chord or just took the tonic up an octave.
So the lower root note was actually the 5th. (I think)
"Parallel 5ths" are frowned upon in part writing (composition theory), so I was gonna mention that, but
I noticed that he changed up the bass melody to help with that.
So someone knows what they are doing, but just didn't sound like it for a sec.

Hate to tell it to you but that's not proper deephouse, at all
out of curiosity what do you define as deep house? this is the style that's classed as 'deep house' nowadays
@@dariusblake7339 The problem is indeed that the qualification deephouse has been watered down immensely over the years. But in the end, this is just commercial mainstream club music, it's not deep at all. And it's simply not how this house subgenre came into existence in the 90s. Proper deephouse is what you hear on RUclips channels like Gentleman, so I suggest you check it out.
@@Drrolfski I know what deep house is traditionally, but house genres have evolved a lot over the time, wills track would be classed by labels as 'deep house' so he's marketing it on RUclips as such, which is only fair. He's not going to call it a tutorial on 'How to make 2023 mainstream club music' because it's too broad a term, this is what most people think of when you say 'deep house' so go and take your gripes to a fckin label executive not a production RUclipsr.
@@dariusblake7339 In my initial comment I was I referring to proper deep house and this is simply not proper deep house. Some like you will call it deep house but to me, that has just become an empty term because this type of music is not deep and way too generic to be called deep house or any specific genre for that matter. Thanks to commercialization and the mainstream market deep house has become an empty shell that classifies almost every club track nowadays.

Growing up in 80s playing in live bands my best mate and his bro got in to House. I got dragged along in my 20s to some Raves and felt like I was 12 at my first WWE event asking my Dad if all these people moving as one actually believed all the smoke and mirrors was real.

You could get in to DJing if you have the cash. Being a real musician requires years and years of laborious practice. Being a DJ is like being a computer programmer. You can learn to program in a month.

Super dope but what if we did the vocals with a vocoder using the fifth chord synths as the reference, over the original pitch vocals, maybe have the octave down vocals way, way back in the mix for effect, maybe with a side chain reverb that has a huge tail
