I do the second one because I was disciplined well, and taught not to waste glue by spreading so much of it, the edges and a cross in the middle is perfectly enough.

I spread my glue stick everywhere because it sucks and doesn't stick very well, so I always end up running through the paper at least 2 rounds of being fully glued :')

TBH as a kid I used to make different glue patterns on my paper and pasted them together and they would NEVER stick,so I would give up and just do it the ‘Stationary Addict Way’.

The first one makes the paper moist at the center and would ruin any prints present. Anyone who used glue would very much likely avoid glueing the center area and go for the sides and/or use a very thin, uniform layer.
