This is not only the best Absolver instructional video, it’s the most easy to follow instructional video out of any I’ve seen for any game. I love you.
thanks alot for this vid. its the first absolver vid ive actually found where someone explains the combat well enough for it to start making sense before i get my hands on the game.
Just started this game, and really loving it. This is the most helpful video I've seen. Actually, one of the best game info guides, I've seen on RUclips, for any game. Thanks dude.
Been thinking about getting this game, looks like there is a lot of depth to the deck system. Will pick this up for sure. Great content as always Scott.
Praise Lord Jund! I wanna play this game REAL bad! But the entire time I was watching people play I had NO FUCKING CLUE WHAT WAS HAPPENING! Thank you soo much for explaining it bro!
Great video. Maybe we can get an advanced deck building guide with a fully formed deck (nothing to complex) explaining why certain moves are placed where they are and why your Enders loop to the stance they loop to.
Dude thank you so much i never understood the combat deck. But you explained to me that the combat deck allows you to make chains of attacks, thanks so much.
I noticed that if I use an alt attack where the diamond sits, rather than where the square is shaded, it will alt attack in which ever direction the diamond is facing. So if you have something that's like Front Left to Back Right, even though the square is still shaded in the Front Left, an alt attack will be where that diamond is in Back Right.
DamnNoHtml oh cool thanks. Also, I was staring at a combat deck video for like 15 minutes straight before I realized you can do an alternative attack after every MOVE in a sequence, not just the end. Lol
That hammer kick is an actual kick used in martial arts it's called axe kick and is really powerful, sadly this game is not out for xbox yet but I'm glad to know it bases it's attacks somewhat in real martial arts
Scott what about the idea of making an infinitely looping 12 hit combo? You could just manually change your stance to enter the combo from wherever you wanted along with alternatives and feints.
That's essentially what I did. I have 4 separate combos that all link into each other. It works pretty well, very hard to predict, especially when you're throwing in mix ups. It works.
LengPeng try to memorize where each of your alternatives land you. This will help with keeping track of where you are. For example after the big elbow I land in bottom right which is low kick starter, this way I always know if I see the elbow the kick is next unless I alternative again. That's how I think about it.
All classes can dodge, but Windfall has a special directional dodge that covers less distance but rewards precise dodges with stamina and frame advantage.
Doing slow attacks out of neutral isn't a terrible idea actually. I personally feel it's actually better to be able to to at least 1 or 2 slow high damage moves out of neutral. They can be delicious punishes on whiffs and guard breaks. (or guard shatters whatever you wanna call them)
DamnNoHtml you right I guess. Haven't played since closed beta I can't remember exactly what I did. I just remember that really heavy spin kick being a sick punish from neutral. Just don't remember how I set it up.
I just made mine 12 fast attacks for X and all my alt attacks are heavy guard breakers. Lets me not have to rely on the combo for when my attack is fast or slow, I can decide it myself so it's always mixed up.
Hmm. I prefer quick alt attacks that loop into each other. I use them to navigate between stances, and set up/mix up 2-4 hit loop combos. I save my heavies for second or third combo hits
nice vid man, only problem is that when you start out you have very few moves so move choice isn't really a thing, like if you've unlocked all those attacks then you should probably know the basics of deck building already
u know that i had 2 figure most of this out myself cause not one absolver post has pointed more of the intricacies out vs just general "build a fast combo" advice /salute
u know i posted this 1/2 way thru watching thinking "well he's got a great grasp of how much u can do but there's more detail" Then u went further! Great tutorial brother, and way 2 delve into what can be done! i wish i saw this when i first started playing and liked and commented 2 hopefully get u better in the search 4 others and def subscribing cause u teach very well. thx 4 makin this!
I want to know more about the bar that’s in the middle There is more to this game than just bashing buttons Like it’s timing of hitting it 2 times on that target
This is not only the best Absolver instructional video, it’s the most easy to follow instructional video out of any I’ve seen for any game. I love you.
thanks alot for this vid. its the first absolver vid ive actually found where someone explains the combat well enough for it to start making sense before i get my hands on the game.
I like the depth on these, i imagine it can be expanded even further
The third dimension of the combat deck.
Damn, it feels weird getting back to this game after so long, and I'm not surprised Scott used to play it.
You explain game mechanics like I do which makes it very easy for me to understand this game when I start playing. Keep up the good work
Just started this game, and really loving it. This is the most helpful video I've seen. Actually, one of the best game info guides, I've seen on RUclips, for any game. Thanks dude.
This isn't a meme video...Does Scott actually enjoy a game for once?
I would enjoy it if I were being paid too.
Nick I doubt they have anywhere near enough money to buy off a bunch of youtubers, not yet anyway lol.
their company is like 6 people. they have legit 0 advertising for this game. but no they totally paid me
DamnNoHtml 20*
eh he enjoyed dark souls 2 a lot back in the day
I've been playing absolver 2 weeks and only barely understood combos but this video was super helpful thank you man
Been thinking about getting this game, looks like there is a lot of depth to the deck system. Will pick this up for sure. Great content as always Scott.
I...is Scott making video's again?
This helped me a lot, thank you. I was just starting to understand the concept, but this made it a lot easier.
I hope you're sponsored by these guys, you're the only reason I know about this game and plan to buy it
Praise Lord Jund! I wanna play this game REAL bad!
But the entire time I was watching people play I had NO FUCKING CLUE WHAT WAS HAPPENING!
Thank you soo much for explaining it bro!
This game looks sexy af.
I knooow, riiight...
Because it is.
TheBangooman it is
Its confusing as hell you dont get a map and end up running around broken down cities either woopin ass or getting wooped
Kelvin how
Can't wait to play this one
easily the best beginner's tutorial on this game so far. really informative
Great video. Maybe we can get an advanced deck building guide with a fully formed deck (nothing to complex) explaining why certain moves are placed where they are and why your Enders loop to the stance they loop to.
Thank god you're back Scott. Love the videos you make!
I’ve waited a year for Xbox release. This video helped out. Makes a lot more sense and now I can reset my attacks for more efficient combos!
Thanks, this was actually helpful. Best video I have seen covering this.
My ravioli king is back at it again! Glad to see that you're working on Absolver content man, can't wait to try it myself.
I messaged you on Reddit about this a long time ago, super glad you decided to cover it.
Dang nice video. You say its a basic break down but its very insightful. Just pumps me up to play it more
Dude thank you so much i never understood the combat deck. But you explained to me that the combat deck allows you to make chains of attacks, thanks so much.
Looks really cool, but can I wing-chun for ip man cosplay?
Great in-depth tutorial really helped me a lot looking forward to more stuff
I noticed that if I use an alt attack where the diamond sits, rather than where the square is shaded, it will alt attack in which ever direction the diamond is facing. So if you have something that's like Front Left to Back Right, even though the square is still shaded in the Front Left, an alt attack will be where that diamond is in Back Right.
The only video I’ve seen that’s ever been helpful for this game is this video right here.
I'm very happy jund found another game he enjoys and can do videos on
Dude this helps A LOT! Everything is so clear now!
You're making me real excited for this game, good sir.
So sick. The Faint move is sweet.
Can I transition into a different stance without having to do a move certain move? Is there a way to just change stances normally?
Hold R2 and aim in the direction of the stance
DamnNoHtml oh cool thanks. Also, I was staring at a combat deck video for like 15 minutes straight before I realized you can do an alternative attack after every MOVE in a sequence, not just the end. Lol
How do You apply The modifications Please reply Quickly.
Nice video! :) How is this game with mouse and keyboard?
Not my main page but this vid made me sub. Great work, very articulate and descriptive.
How would you suggest making a Wing Chun build?
Where did you get the 5th shard? Also what are your stats?
Beautiful.
The only game that I've looked forward to more than SoulsBorne
It is 2100 and the mechanics of Absolver finally understood!
I can't thank you enough for this! Exactly the info I needed.
Hey scott thanks for the video, bought the game can't wait to play tomorrow.
Gonna be playing destiny 2 beta today.
Good video, cya round.
Should the goal be to create a chain as long as possible?
Bass T not really as it us extremely unlikely an opponent will sit there and let you do all of that
Nice. Gonna love trying this out.
thank you very much for this, rly needed this to get a grasp of whats what as a newbie
Make Iron Fist build
a build where you get your ass kicked in every fight? that doesn't sound very fun.
^ haHAA
Read his comics.
That hammer kick is an actual kick used in martial arts it's called axe kick and is really powerful, sadly this game is not out for xbox yet but I'm glad to know it bases it's attacks somewhat in real martial arts

Egg works
That's essentially what I did. I have 4 separate combos that all link into each other. It works pretty well, very hard to predict, especially when you're throwing in mix ups. It works.
Only downside is that it makes it harder to really control your combos. I get confused by my own mix ups lol...
LengPeng try to memorize where each of your alternatives land you. This will help with keeping track of where you are. For example after the big elbow I land in bottom right which is low kick starter, this way I always know if I see the elbow the kick is next unless I alternative again. That's how I think about it.
FINNNAAAAALLLY BEEN STUCK GOING PUNCH PUNCH FOR SOOOO LONG THANKYOU JESUS!!!!!
Is dodging unique to windfall or can all the classes dodge?
All classes can dodge, but Windfall has a special directional dodge that covers less distance but rewards precise dodges with stamina and frame advantage.
Thanks alot man, just what I needed. It's Been a while since I was into fighting (Tekken).. Potential!
How do you unlock the third column for your combat deck?
I thought you played dbd 😭 thanks for helping me I didn’t think many ppl played this game and made informative content
Kicks only combat deck when? The video practically makes itself.
"Absolver - kick dude"
Patrick Jane MADAFACA you need to speak to yung maestro
It's called taekwondo, my friend)
Oroboro made a kick only deck
How much speed do you have on your wind?
Last time I was this early, the horse had a corpse to beat instead of existing purely as a bloody paste on the ground.
If there are remnants of a horse that means we can still beat it
And thus I continue
Beat it like a Irish housewife
what's the best style in your opinion?
Thank you so much for explaining the direction thingy and the tiny arrow i didnt understand what it meant😅
Thank you! This was extremely useful
Thank you, you really opened my eyes.
Should I get this game? Seems fun
It's up to you. If you can't tell you want it, then you probably don't.
I have no doubts. I know I want to play it.
It has crappy singleplayer compared to something like Dark Souls. If you're a PVP player then sure.
it's like under half of the prize of a normal game, i mean, for the prize it's deffo worth a shot
Andew, Seventh Sun of Edwad dumb point
Dr.Hannibal Lecter It isn't.
I just picked the most powerful attacks.... is that bad?
Were do you get all these moves?
Doing slow attacks out of neutral isn't a terrible idea actually. I personally feel it's actually better to be able to to at least 1 or 2 slow high damage moves out of neutral. They can be delicious punishes on whiffs and guard breaks. (or guard shatters whatever you wanna call them)
You can do that with alternative attacks out of neutral. Was just a suggestion to not have your light combos start with a heavy.
DamnNoHtml you right I guess. Haven't played since closed beta I can't remember exactly what I did. I just remember that really heavy spin kick being a sick punish from neutral. Just don't remember how I set it up.
Loved your tutorial scott.
10:14 that kick looks like a really good mixup
Is it hard to play with keyboard n mouse?
This helped so much brother thank you
Anyone know where I can learn the handstand kick?
Thanks for that Video, very good guide.
fast attacks chain into heavy attacks. You play fighting games enough to learn combos that works for you. Sweet
How come I only have two moves per combo? Is it style based or level based?
You gain more as you progress through the game.
That was extremely helpful. Thanks man
I just made mine 12 fast attacks for X and all my alt attacks are heavy guard breakers. Lets me not have to rely on the combo for when my attack is fast or slow, I can decide it myself so it's always mixed up.
Hmm. I prefer quick alt attacks that loop into each other. I use them to navigate between stances, and set up/mix up 2-4 hit loop combos. I save my heavies for second or third combo hits
this was extremly helpful
Thanks for the explanation, dude.... Now I know how combo works in absolver. This game is definitely not a standard Fighting game.
Thank you so much master!🙏🙏
Awesome video, very helpful. Cheers!
Thank you, this was a very helpful video for me.
nice vid man, only problem is that when you start out you have very few moves so move choice isn't really a thing, like if you've unlocked all those attacks then you should probably know the basics of deck building already
Thanks, now I understand it a bit more
Helped a lot before i play tonight
Duuude, this helped me out so much! Thanks a lot :D
Just Got this game and i wish i saw this before. I just couldn’t figure out how the combo system worked.
Thx Scott!
When you have a 12 attack combo
u know that i had 2 figure most of this out myself cause not one absolver post has pointed more of the intricacies out vs just general "build a fast combo" advice /salute
u know i posted this 1/2 way thru watching thinking "well he's got a great grasp of how much u can do but there's more detail" Then u went further! how can i leave my school in absolver i wanna create my own?
Yo this make me understand so much
Game is free on PS+
I want to know more about the bar that’s in the middle There is more to this game than just bashing buttons Like it’s timing of hitting it 2 times on that target
Helpful af thanks bro
Great vid where do i go to to learn hammer kick.
Would love to see a tutorial on weapons. They don’t get enough play.
So guess he's an Absolver RUclipsr now.
wow man great guide
a video where he actually sounds interesting/interested... strange
It looks fun and all but is it worth $30?
$30 is like 3 shots and a beer.
How the hell do you get to practice mode
I love the huge amounts of moves and combinations but learning all the moves is a chore
