Hello. In Portugal we dont call that tapas (that's spanish), we call it petiscos. The hospitality/restaurant service might say tapas to foreigners visitors as a shorthand and because most know the spanish word better but we licals have our own word for it and its petiscos. A lot of the portuguese periscos are also quite different from the spanish tapas as well so there's that too. Thank you for visiting my small country and i hope you return.
Hi Carlos! What's funny is I kept seeing signs outside restaurants which said "Petiscos" but I didn't know what that meant. I'm so glad I've been able to learn this from the comments int his video, thank you for educating me! This was already my second time in Portugal and I plan on visiting your beautiful country again and again :)
Great content! If I could make 2 suggestions: try to match the volume of the transitional music to the volume of your narration and try to avoid too much movement (such as, moving to and fro) while talking to the camera. I think these two changes can help your videos become more pleasant to watch. In any case, it was informative!
Terrific Video! Heading to Lisbon tomorrow for my first trip. Just curious, do you remember much about how you got to and from Cabo da Roca from Sintra? I think you mentioned Uber. Was it difficult to get an Uber back to Sintra? Was it expensive?
That's wonderful, hope you have a great time! Honestly I don't remember exactly how much it was but I want to say probably around $50 round trip. That was also more than a year ago though so it could be different now, enjoy!
8:32 - Just a small correction: the Pastéis de Belém shop doesn't sell Pastéis de Nata. Do not confuse the two and above all, don't try to compare them because they're very different. The first have a secret recipe, a trademarked name and are sold exclusively there, the latter are just an attempt to make something similar that obviously had to have a different name and recipe and they're sold everywhere else.
Yay!! I hope you have a wonderful time! Do let me know how you liked it and if you found any other hidden gems :) I don’t know any Portuguese either but I didn’t have any problem at all. Everyone is used to visitors and most people speak some English
thank you for this awesome review of Lisbon. Actually I am planning to visit Portugal on the 3rd of March and my plan is to spend 4 days in Lisbon then take the train to Porto. Any advices for what to do in Lisbon and Porto? once again thank you very much for the +A mazing review.
Hi!! So glad you enjoyed the video. Most of the things I would recommend to do in Lisbon have been outlined in this video - I visited Porto over 6 years ago so I don't remember the details too much anymore but it's a lovely place and I have no doubt that you will really enjoy it. Hope you have a wonderful trip!
Great video ;) we actually dont call it "tapas", thats spanish, but tuouristy places called "tapas" because foreigners know what "tapas" are. The portuguese trasnlation of "tapas" is "petiscos" ;)
@Sanam Travels it’s ok xD oh, and next time you come, try the Jeronimos monestary ( you can go to the church without a ticket or payment), the Saint Jorge Castle (best sunset in the city); alfama neighborhood (oldest in the city), the nations park (with the Lisbon’s aquarium which is one of the biggest in Europe), and the town of Cascais. If you need any tips, just ask;)
Hi Claudia! I was there in mid November - it was still pretty hot and humid during the day but it’s always cloudy there which is good. There were random showers sometimes here and there but they were short. The early mornings and nights were pleasant. I assume the weather is similar in October as well. Hope you enjoy your trip whenever you go!
I visited Porto in 2017 and absolutely fell in love with its charm! I actually visited it before I went to Lisbon. Can’t wait to visit it again although I’ve heard it has gotten more touristy than before
Nonsense! BOTH Porto and Lisboa provide quality AND quantity. I say this as i loved visiting Porto and 3 nights wasn't enough to scratch the surface. Same with Lisboa or Braga or Évora or Coimbra, etc... Portugal is so small, too small to mantain this stupid bairrismo bullsiht that has plagued us for far too long. We need to be united not divided.

Great intro 😊
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it :)
There is a secret way up to the top on the lift and it's free! Went there in October.

Good to know, thanks for the insights!
Great video. Going there soon. Is the language difference a big issue? I know no Portuguese.

There's so much cool stuff to do and eat in Lisbon - let me know if you want to do any of these things or discovered something else too!!
What month was this ? I would like to know the weather in October 😊
Thank you 🙏🏻

There are many Pakistani small restaurants in Lisbon which I bet are Halal.
Wow really?! I had no idea, I wish I knew while I was there. If you have any specific ones in mind I would love to know for next time :)
Visit Porto World’s best destination in 2022! Then compare: Lisbon is quantity and Porto is quality. Prosit!❤
