First Restart of my 1971 Datsun 240z after many years of sitting in storage.

- My poor Datsun. She was once so beautiful and proud. Now she is old and neglected and its all my fault. The car has literally been towed behind me for the last 10 years as I have moved 5 or 6 times in that period. Each tiem the car get put on a trailer and subjected to weathering and being un appreciated.
Yesterday was fathers day. This car once belonged to my lifetime buddy's dad before me. Yesterday in a most perfect ironic stroke of calendar luck, my that and buddy brought the car back to life.
We got new tires mounted on the rear allowing the car to actually be driven. We drained all of the fuel out of the tank and filled it back up with 3 gallons of fresh stuff. We did an oil change and gave everything a quick once over and then hooked a battery to it.
This is day 1 of bringing this incredible car back to life.

Why does than Nissan (Datsun) have a V8 engine in it?
That's 💯 total and utter sacrilege, replacing the beautiful and totally original seventies 2.4 litre straight six engine!!!

Wow. In 1980 I jumped into my mate's 240z and I pulled 3 Gs as it he hit 60 mph in 4 seconds ... in second gear.

JDM. so of course it starts. I have a Honda CB360t. Sat for 10yrs. Battery in and boom fired roght up. Lets see an American car do that. JDM for the win
Take a closer look at the engine 😉 To me it looks like a chevy small block...
