The fuel pump issue - staying on - won't turn on - engine turns off due to lack of fuel. This is a known issue and there is an FCA recall for many vehicles. It's the fuel pump relay which is inside the TIPM on the circuit board. It can be internally replaced or externally bypassed. The systems going haywire - if you prove to the TIPM it is likely corrosion due to water intrusion. This is a painful and tedious teardown of the TIPM. Replacement is an option but is very expensive and sometimes unesessary. Thanks for the video
Glad you commented.
TIPM’s are around $250-$325 these days
Appreciate this comment. I feel like the mechanic is right about my 2013 srt challenger crank no start.. I replaced the cam shaft sensor... I replaced pcm. I replaced battery.. I replaced fuel pump relay in trunk.. Still crank no Start.. Tipm is next I suppose
How do I bypass? Trying to diagnose. Fuel pump will not turn on.
@@JakeM121314 There are lots of vids to help. Search for “TIPM fuel pump relay bypass”. Or TIPM fuel pump relay repair”. Common issue with certain model years. Dealerships actually had a kit for the issue with an external relay and how to tap it into the TIPM.
I have a 2010 dodge journey stx 3.5. Came very close to running out of gas two weeks ago, sputtered as I pulled into the station. Filled it up, when I cranked it up, it took alot longer than it should to crank, and it ran honorable the whole way home. Woke up the next day to nothing. Battery is showing 13.4, also put a new starter and starter relay in. It will barely crank, but no start.
My 2009 Dodge ram 4.7 has the TipM fuse box in it, and I continuously have problems with it! Anything from dash saying damaged key to no turn no crank! I have put a new starter, starter relay everything else is connected properly . I'm about to throw the towel in!!
Airbag might randomly deploy....love the idea of that "special effect," after working in bodyshops and seeing how airbags bust up customers faces😳
Off to find my interior CAN related issue! 😈
My foglights won’t stay on as a result I just found out that I have a recall on it I have a 2015 Chrysler 200C and need a software update as well and it’s no Charge…
I'm not having any of those issues. Mine acted like it was out of gas even though it had about half a tank. It would start and die. Then it stopped cranking altogether. There was an issue with the ignition switch so I fixed that and it ran for a few days. Then it did it again and I had to tow it home. After days of trying everything I could think of I bipassed the auto shut down relay and it started but none of the gauges work and it's not locking/ unlocking with the remote and the dome light doesn't come on when you open the doors but does come on with the buttons and with the switch on the turn signal lever. I've been driving it for a week with a jumper wire bipassing the asd relay. I don't know if I should keep trying to fix it or throw holy water on it.
Update? Did you find the issue
Does this help with AC module not working?
What about burning out the alternator?
I have all the lights on the dashboard…. I’ve narrowed it down to the FDCM or the TIPM
The central nervous system of the car
My horn won't blow and the starter won't engage and the steering wheel won't lock but everything else powers up and works
Did you ever find out the problem? My 2013 dodge avengers horn would randomly start blowing sometimes for several seconds and sometimes just a little toot, i drove it with no other issues for about 2 or 3 months then more recently it started to sputter every now and then, almost like it was running out of gas, but it didn't happen that often so I still drove it. But last week it now won't change out of first gear when driving (its a automatic) so I had to park it. I'm trying to atleast self diagnose it before deciding what to do next.
you give all the many problems but a hard reset isnt going to help...You took forever saying this and that using blank wording. lets get this thing fiixed !
Question = when doing hard reset,,do you tie batt cables together while tipm is still plugged in? if so, do i need to wait a period of time before unplugging Tipm ? does it matter?
Either way. Once you take the cables off the battery, electricity should be 99% drained. Once you hook up the cables, itll be 100% drained in minutes....you cam unhook the tipm at anytime if you want but not needed. Important thing is to make sure that the connection is solidly seated and there is no corrosion on the plug or the connectors.
@@peterl6095 thanks !! my Tipm is showing the symptoms. Im going to take apart and clean / test relays. These companies are charging $250+ for Tipms they "rebuild" ...but they are just doing what i mentioned. Cost = $0 .

Prob should clean your ground wire too... alot of similar issues arise with ground wired with limited connection or corrosion.
My 2008 Jeep Liberty is going haywire
Can this cause a battery drain over night?
Prob not
Yes it can
I have a Chrysler 200 2012 and my passenger high beam and low beam stopped working , also my right turn signal front doesn’t work it just clicks really fast is this all the TIPM ? I’m stupid asf with cars trying to find a good mechanic or place to take it to and examine
I've been learning more about problems with my interior CAN on a Caravan and noticed the CAN system does have a separate control system for each headlight...which I thought was rather interesting as I've always thought of headlights controlled as a pair but they aren't 🤔
Have you checked for voltage/corrosion at the bulb sockets and fuse box? I'd start there.
I also noticed my older Snap-on Modis bidirectional scan tool has the ability to turn the headlights on and off, one at a time. Maybe you or a friend has a bidirectional scan tool that could look at that aspect if you're struggling still.
TIPM. Stands for totally integrated power module. In the title you mention a hard reset. Where was this. It certainly wasn’t anywhere in your repetitive rambling.
