Lying for clout and for power is a common occurrence. This woman is also dead now, so she can't defend herself effectively. We will likely never know "the whole truth".
Or with a little bit of genealogical research, you'll find that people like her are descendants of those who came in through Ellis Island, but that's not special enough.
Would she really have tried to honestly defend herself?

@@aluvrianne Her father's people were from Mexico. Ellis Island only started to be used as an migrant processing centre when? I'm descended from Norwegian Americans and they didn't enter by Ellis Island. They came somewhat earlier than the establishment of Ellis Island.
