Shanghai is really a perfect city, bustling, beautiful buildings, convenient transportation, clean streets, plenty of food, and super good security. The Chinese are also very friendly. I also hope you have a pleasant trip to Shanghai☺
Such an inspiring solo travel vlog! 🌟 The food recommendations like Xiao Yang Sheng Jian Bao and WABI Coffee are spot-on, and the strolls through Wukang Rd and The Bund capture Shanghai's charm perfectly. Definitely adding these spots to my bucket list! 🏙🍴
June is the wettest month in Shanghai, especially the second half. Pack clothes that are easy to dry. Most ground surfaces in Shanghai are textured for safety, but there are patches of smooth ceramics or polished granite. So, make sure that the soles of your shoes are grippy when wet, even on smooth hard surfaces. Bring a pair of Crocs like sandals, just in case your shoes get wet and won't dry overnight. The rain can be inconvenient, but it is very romantic, too. Just imagine an empty Bund in a rainy night , with all the lights, to yourself. I have been there. Enjoy your trip.
watching your vlog makes me miss China so much! i just came back from Shenzhen and it’s my 1st trip to China. i must say China really make me 大开 眼界. the food are so yummy, shopping and taking public transport /didi so seamless with alipay. streets are clean, ppl are friendly (very different from what some news portrays China to be, or maybe i’m just lucky la). but of cos their toilet hygiene still the same la (mostly, unless u go to those atas shopping mall😂. but overall it is still a wonderful trip that i least expected!
Agree with your points! My first trip to China was eye opening too. They’re far ahead of most Asian countries in terms of efficiency and the people in big cities are generally very civil. For toilet, I was quite lucky I didn’t encounter unhygienic ones. Most are in malls or office complexes. Can’t wait for my next China adventure heh
@@yuldaze Yes, I felt the same too last time. The 小杨生煎 I had was in the basement of a not so famous shopping mall. The ones I had in SG was no match to 小杨生煎 in my opinion. 😔😔😔 Have you ever had any good ones in SG?
Oh I had it at the basement of some metro mall too!!! Hidden from crowds but still full house haha. Haven’t had any in SG that left an impression tbh 😂

1:50 what are those fingerprint receipts for? when i arrived in china for the first time i registered my fingerprints on a machine which printed something like this out but i later realized that we dont need it.
@yuldaze hmm that's strange, when we arrived at the airport, nobody told us to do the registration thing on the machine, we did it on our own becos we thought we had to and then when i passed the fingerprint voucher together with my passport to the custom officer, he didn't even looked at it, all he did was take my passport.
Hello Yul! Great video as always hehe 🥰 May I check how much were your tickets? Does it include checked baggage? Usually for short trips like 4D4N to China, will you recommend getting a checked baggage?
👀👀👀 *bites the beef tripe* also, because I've friends who can't take any spice at all. Could we get non-spicy broth for hotpots and such in Shanghai/China? just something I was thinking about. Did you get the little devil? It's very cute
Oh I redeemed miles haha! So flight + hotel only cost me $300+ in total. If you wanna save money, take their public transport. I took Didi all the way because I wanted to cover more in a short time and not stress over directions 🙃
taxis are so cheap in china it's a no brainer to not use them to go everywhere, it's like 4-5 sgd on average per trip...looking back i felt like a fool for taking public transport and everywhere for the first few days of my travel in china..
@@yuldaze oh you mean like the custom officers ask for fingerprint while scanning through the passports? as for the immigration form, this will be given out to passengers during the flight?
Hi, yul 👋. I've linked a credit card to wechat payment as a singaporean registered. However, it dont work. Does it have to have a china sim card or china bank card?

Next time you can try some bars in Shanghai. They are really chill and of super nice vibe~ Or club if you are interested lol.
Oh yeah I’ve seen the speakeasy recos on XHS too! I’m just not a bar or club person bc I’m allergic to alcohol lol

1:50 what are those fingerprint receipts for? when i arrived in china for the first time i registered my fingerprints on a machine which printed something like this out but i later realized that we dont need it.
Idk!🤣 but it was mandatory for foreigners - we were led to the machines and had to show the receipt before entering queue for customs clearance

Hi Yul, do you think the Wukang Road area is worth to go?
I went to Huaihai Middle road. Me and my mum like it. Is it the same vibe.?
Worth a visit! There won’t be as many shops as huaihai middle rd but it’s more culturally rich

which outlet did you go for Ms Fu in Chengdu?
The one along Yuyuan Rd!
do they need fingerprints or any documents if you're first time visiting China ?
Fingerprints will be collected. There’s the usual immigration form that will be given to you in flight - that needs to be filled & submitted as well
@@yuldaze oh you mean like the custom officers ask for fingerprint while scanning through the passports? as for the immigration form, this will be given out to passengers during the flight?

Hello! It doesn’t have to be a China bank card. Mine is a SG credit card and it can be activated while on SG network
Hi. What about Shanghai did you enjoy the most ?
Oh definitely food (I like Shanghai food better than Guangzhou), the cafe scene and accessibility of places!
How much did you spend for the trip ? Enjoyable vlog, btw. Would be great if u could add the cost for more food/items

can the chinese map be translated into english?
Unfortunately not, but you can key in the search terms in English and it still shows the results on map 🙂
if you have ios, you can just use apple map, it'd be in english and it's pretty accurate in china from what i heard.
